3 + Profile- Maharashtra 82% of the area is rainfed 149 out of 355 blocks are DPAP blocks National Rainfed Area Authority (NRAA) has recommended watershed works to be taken up on a large scale for drought proofing Serious drought conditions in Maharashtra in the summer of 2012 & 2013 (124 blocks notified as drought hit)
