Resonance Structures Sometimes there is more than one correct answer…
Drawing Lewis Dot Structures First: Build it with the puzzle pieces Second: Draw the FINAL answer on your paper S3S3
Resonance When there are more than one valid structure for a molecule we call these Resonance Structures In reality, the molecule is usually flip flopping back and forth between its resonance structures We show this by drawing both structures and then a double headed arrow between them
Drawing Lewis Dot Structures Third: Draw the resonance structures of the molecule S3S3 SSS SSS
Draw the Lewis Dot Structure for… phosphite ion *hint* - you have to add or remove electrons
Draw the Lewis Dot Structure for… nitrite ion
ISOMERS Draw the Lewis Dot Structure for… S2OS2O Since we can move the order of the elements, we call these isomers.
