7 Individual Strengths & Qualities for a Specific Role PhysicalHeightStrengthSpeedPersonalCompetitiveMotivated Composure under pressure Technical Range of passes Spatial awareness Shooting accuracy Effective performance of individuals is vitally important to the success of the team. Any strategy used should try and make the best of players’ strengths and minimise any weaknesses. For Example: Tallest players as GK & GS, fittest player as C and most accurate shooters at GA & GS.

8 Team Strengths & Weaknesses Although players should be aware of their individual strengths & weaknesses, they should also be aware of how successful/unsuccessful they are as a team and be able to identify team strengths & weaknesses. When analysing a team the focus should mainly be on Technical aspects of the game. For example; Linking passes Movement up the court Group Dynamics Communication Success of strategies e.g. Backline pass or Centre Pass. This will help the team with focus during training but more significantly the ability to devise strategies to suit team strengths & weaknesses.

9 Success within a Team For a team to work effectively all players must cooperate, communicate & carry out their roles and responsibilities to the highest level possible. This also means being able to adapt/change quickly to meet varying game demands
