Student Activities A5.4: Sports Ratios: For every 5 players on the starting lineup in basketball, there are 9 players in baseball. Work with a partner to create at least 5 sports ratios. Be creative. Choose your favourite ratio and create a poster. Label it properly and add illustrations.

Many everyday examples of rates can be found at the grocery store. For example, you might buy 6 oranges for $2.00. Can you think of any other examples of rates in the grocery store? Can you think of any other rates used in a different context? Describe three situations that depict or show a rate of 3:1.
