2 NSS Mathematics Curriculum Compulsory Part (all students) Extended Part Module 1 (M1) or Module 2 (M2) Maths curriculum comprises a Compulsory Part & an Extended Part

3 Module 1 (M1) / Module 2 (M2) NOT an elective subject M1 / M2 - only an Extended Part of mathematics.

4 Compulsory Part ONLY (all students) Compulsory Part + Extended Part M1 Compulsory Part + Extended Part M2 Students may take the compulsory Part only, or the Compulsory Part with either Module 1 or Module 2 from the extended Part

5 M1/M2 is designed for students who need more maths knowledge / skills for their Future Studies and Careers Students taking M1/M2 have to handle more Complicated Problems / Concepts

13 DSE Exam Results in Compulsory Part & Extended Part are counted as one subject Exam. results of both parts are Reported Separately Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination

14 If candidates have results in both parts in HKDSE, the better of the two will be selected for counting of awarded subject levels by HKEAA Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority (HKEAA) Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination eg. Students got 5** in both compulsory part & extended part but these two parts are counted as one 5**
