3 Getting the best out of the standards – 2.5 Geographic research –Clearly stated research aim(s) set the scene for successful research –State the aim at the start of the research presentation question to answer hypothesis to test –Thorough research related to simple aims, works better than simple research with complex aims

4 Getting the best out of the standards – 2.6 Geographic Issue –Geographic – people or environment + spatial component (e.g. Location / distribution – maps involved) –Explaining Viewpoints – reflection on who the individuals or groups are….moving into perspectives territory: ‘because they are ….’ ‘they think that….’ ‘they are interested in….’

Explaining process(es) –sequence idea –the trade process –DEMAND → CONTRACTS → FELLING (LEGAL AND ILLEGAL) → SHIPPING → MANUFACTURE
