Key Stage One Grouping Sharing Grouping with a number line Grouping with a number line to show remainders
Key Stage One Fractions!
Progression in Key Stage One It is essential that children know their times tables for multiplication. They can use this knowledge to progress with division using inverse operations. E.g. 3 x 4 = ÷ 4 = 3 12 ÷ 3 = 4
Key Stage Two Knowledge of all times tables is increasingly essential. Progressing on the children use bigger numbers. Doubling and halving.
Key Stage Two Short division
Chunking! ANSWER: 32 r4 30 x 6 2 x 6 An equivalent calculation using larger numbers, for example HTU ÷ TU
