9 Solution Overview

10 Communication & Collaboration from Anywhere
Not only can users work with virtually any device, but they can work from anywhere. Workers can be in main offices, branch offices, at home, temporary/seasonal locations, or traveling and they will have full access to communications tools just like they were in the office. As global workforces are becoming increasingly mobile, and as we saw in the beginning of the presentation, workers rank flexible schedules even higher than compensation, flexible working tools are critical to a productive workforce. Work anywhere: Use any mobile or home phone as an office phone extension Access to a built in 128-port conference bridge to host, manage and attend audio conferences for employees, partners, and customers Access to your calendar within your communications client with MS Exchange integration Instant Messaging and presence aggregation and federation with public networks – meaning that you can IM instantly with people on different IM platforms such as Google Talk just by adding their user id your IM contacts. Along with full access to communication tools, Avaya’s solutions can also reduce long distance, and international calling costs. Calls can be routed using the most cost effective way. i.e – employees wanting to call customers or employees in other state or even country, are routed through the network and ‘break-out’ of the other IP Office locations, so it can be a local call. Expensive mobile calls are also routed through the IP Office – expensive $ a minute calls to other countries are now pennies as you can make use of less expensive land line tariffs mobile Use the same tools at home, on the road, or in the office. Access the corporate directory and messages, see employee availability, schedule and manage conference calls, chat, and make or receive calls. Reduce long distance, mobile, and international calling cost.

31 MidMarket Server Edition – VPN Phones
Internet IP Hard Phone with VPN Client Software Integrates the functionality of the VPN device into the Avaya IP phone As shown in the picture, the IP Office (equipped with VCMs to support IP telephones) and a VPN gateway along with the VPN software on the remote IP phone and broadband connection to the Internet is all that is needed for the user to have access to the IP Office. A remote VPN gateway is no longer needed. The remote user experiences easier and quicker installation. This enables the remote worker to be more productive. Additionally, as the user travels around, wherever there is broadband connection to the Internet, the user can connect their IP phone. Based upon the programming done originally in the IP phone, it will locate the VPN gateway and the IP Office to become a fully functional IP set - the same as when connected locally. Application notes are available with the 3 noted VPN gateways. These gateways are targeted for the SMB space. A complete list of enterprise gateways can be found on the link provided. VPN Gateway VPN Client Software supported on: 5600 series 9600 series Application Notes available for VPN Gateways: Kentrox VPN Q2300 Router Netgear FVS338 VPN Router Adtran Advanta 3305 Complete list located at:

Linux Feature Key Serial Number (termed System ID) is derived from platform hardware components For Avaya-supplied, System ID is displayed on packaging and server If the hard drive or Ethernet card fails, a replacement will change the System ID. 30 day grace period on a change. New licenses required before expiry. The 30 day grace period will only run once in any 30 day period, any further change of System ID will cause all license to be come immediately invalid

39 MidMarket Server Edition License Operation
The Primary acts as a central license server Allocates to Secondary or Expansion systems on request. Allocates to remote systems only after it has satisfied its own requirements Secondary and Expansion systems will check their local licenses first before any request of the Primary. Local licenses cannot be placed into the Primary’s license pool Any Secondary or Expansion system losing contact with the Primary will persist allocated licenses for a 15 day grace period Alarms (SSA/SNMP/Syslog/ ) for license over allocation, grace period start + reminder - Central licenses are issued/locked to Primary’s feature key serial number. Primary’s record of remotely allocated licenses persists until the device is removed from the solution, or it’s requirement reduces. Secondary and Expansion Local licenses can include IP Endpoint and User licenses The design aim is to support licensing for a fully licensed system. Operation whilst partially licensed is possible, but can lead to unpredictable allocations due to first come first served, and Primary’s own license priority
