“Why does love always feel like a battlefield…” This is an example of a simile. I know this because the lyric is comparing love to a battlefield using the word like.
“I’m not an old record that you can blow off and play me…” This is an example of a metaphor. The reason it is a metaphor is because its comparing to unlike things without using like or as.
“Falling for forever, wonderfully wandering alone…” This is an example of Alliteration. Reason being is it repeats the same first letter.
“A year without you is like a year without rain…” That is an example of Hyperbole. In these lyrics Selena is over exaggerating and expressing what a year would be like without the person.
“Boom boom boom (gotta get get) x4..” This lyric is an example of a onomatopoeia. The black eyed peas are singing a sound. (Ex. Boom, Pow, Bang, Crack)
“Texas, was green eyes crying goodbye…” This last one is an example of Sensory imagery. Jason Aldean is describing and painting a mental picture in your head of a girl with green eyes crying as you listen to the lyrics.
