Which are the main research data sharing needs that should be addressed at European level? ◦ Data about research products and their authors? ◦ Evaluation related data e.g. citations, impact factor? ◦ Data about reseach groups, sectors, laboratories, istruments? ◦ Project related data?
Which are today the main barriers to the satisfaction of these needs? ◦ Technological? ◦ Cultural? ◦ Political? ◦ Organizational?
Can we identify a roadmap to meet research data sharing and exploitation requirements? ◦ Where we should/can start with? ◦ What is more urgent? ◦ Should the solution be centralised or distributed?
What should be done to address the first step? ◦ Prepare a questionnaire on potential services that might be built exploiting the shared data? ◦ Start up a pilot? ◦ Set up of an interoperability working group? ◦ Prepare a new project proposal?
