21 © The University of Leeds and the NMI, all rights reserved Concluding thoughts ● Velocity of creation of new value chains defines competitivity for emergent technologies ● Rapid creation of new metrology methods and standards are essential for delivering emergent technologies to application in a timely manner ● FP7 Nano EHS research in risk management for engineered nanoparticles needs to be converted into policy and regulatory testing during Horizon 2020 ● NMP has been developing a coherent policy for metrology and standards together with Member States National Metrology Institutes since FP4
