New Teachers are Supported Through: Summer Institute for Beginning Teachers Beginning Teachers are provided with professional learning sessions led by experienced teachers and Instructional Leaders on practical ideas and resources on how to plan engaging and relevant lessons, effective assessment practices and how to get to know their students, parents and communities Job Embedded Learning Initiative (JELI) Up to 3 days (total) release time is provided for 1st and 2nd Year teachers from a diverse menu of school- based professional learning with Mentors, Exploration Classroom learning and central professional learning sessions (2 total days provided for newly hired LTOs) Orientation / Mentorship / Job Embedded Learning
New Teachers are Supported Through: Job Associated Mentoring Up to 1 day (total) release time is provided for 3 rd and 4 th Year teachers from a diverse menu of school-based professional learning with Mentors, Exploration Classroom learning and central professional learning Exploration Classroom Learning Intentional, guided and focused observation of a host teacher in practice, with each visit comprised of orientation / observation / debriefing / action planning and follow up from an exploration classroom facilitator
New Teachers are Supported Through: Embedded Online Support & Collaboration Daily Online Support / Conferencing / Weekly communication in TDSB BT site and BT AW site for access to Announcements, Calendars, Podcasts and participation in discussion forums Key to Learn Online access to professional learning designed for Teachers and includes wide range of courses in Leadership, Curricular, Personal and Skill Development
