LOGO Contents Bacteriophage 1 The Lytic Cycle 2 Hershey & Chase’s Experiment 3

LOGO Bacteriophage Require bacterial cells to grow We’ll focus on the T2 phage. It consists of 2 main parts Head: Icosahedral shape Tail: hollow tube. DNA is in the head, and the shell is made of protein. It survives by the ‘Lytic Cycle’!

LOGO T2 Phage’s Life Cycle We survive by the wonderful procedure called the ‘Lytic Cycle’!

LOGO Hershey & Chases' Experiment

LOGO Hershey & Chases' Experiment Radioactive sulfur (protein) is found predominantly in the supernatant. Radioactive phosphorus (DNA) is found predominantly in the cell fraction.
