READING FOR THOUGHT The monster came toward us with twice our speed. We gasped in amazement. We were awed and silent. The animal came on, playing with waves. It circled the Abraham Lincoln, then moved away two or three miles, leaving a bright wake. A scary, imaginary creature To breathe in quickly Waves made by boat
READING FOR THOUGHT All at once it rushed from the dark horizon toward the ship with a frightening speed. When it was about twenty feet away, the light suddenly went out, and then appeared on the other side of us, as if the monster had gone beneath us.
