SIG Teacher Attendance is a Federal requirement due to ARRA funding Teacher-Student Data Link (TSDL) Indicator of both educator and program effectiveness Link a student’s attendance records with their teachers to track the actual number of days of instruction by a particular teacher. v4 mid-year change continues in v5 Certified staff with instructional assignments. TA rules now look at the Student Course Enrollment file first instead of the Staff Assignment file. For every class taken that is type “R”, SRM expects a corresponding Teacher Attendance record for the staff member in the IDStaffId field of that Student Course Enrollment record. Personal Short Term Absences less than 10 consecutive days. Includes absence due to illness, Dr's appointments, religious observance, bereavement, personal leave, or other absence for personal reasons. Military Absence needed to meet military obligation. Jury Duty/ Judicial Reasons Absence due to jury duty, to respond to a subpoena, to meet with lawyers, or other justice system related absence. School Sponsored Activity Absence to attend activity sponsored by the school or district; includes athletic events; student competitions, concerts and student events; field trips for a class other than this one. NOTE: a teacher attending an activity with his/her class is not absent for that class. Professional Development Absence to attend workshops, conventions, classes, and other professional development activity, either sponsored by the district or not, with pay. Collaboration/Mentoring/Observing Absence due to a need to work with other local school or district staff to improve curriculum or instructional practices; includes absence to meet with administrative staff for evaluation purposes. Administrative Leave with pay Absence at the request of the district, or to represent the district at district, state, or national meetings; district salary received for the time away from the classroom. Administrative Leave without Pay Absence at the request of the district or with district approval for which no salary is received. Personal Long Term For absences of 10 consecutive days or more; when the employee holds an active contract but is absent for 10 consecutive days or greater. Examples may include family leave, medical leave, extended bereavement or other personal leave. Use this code for the Salary Based Apportionment snapshot data.
