What we sell is highlighted in Orange, including hardware, software, installation, and maintenance. Software includes the SUSE OS (including three-year warranty) Installation services: hardware, OS, and database installation Installation is performed on site. Huawei provides one-stop maintenance for all hardware . Integration development System maintenance Enterprise application Database Installation Huawei/ Partner OS Optional: Provide by Huawei or Partner Hardware maintenance Hardware Key points: Huawei provides the HANA installation service but not the HANA software. This service is defined in Huawei's cooperation agreement with SAP. Other hardware vendors also follow this agreement. The integration development is generally provided by SAP or other independent software vendors (ISV). Huawei is not involved in the application layer. If enterprise applications are provided by SAP, such as BI and BO, SAP is the main point of contact for maintenance and contact customers directly. After receiving and analyzing customers' problems, SAP forwards hardware problems to Huawei and system problems to SUSE.

For the data reliability, When some IBM HANA computer node shut down, the data replication at other HANA nodes need to be redistributed. That will impact to network and impact the HANA system. Extend storage capacity alone: some customer want more storage capacity, IBM need purchase more X5 or X6 system to accommodate more disk. In huawei FusionCube, it is ok that you can only buy more disk.

27 SAP HA solution option On top of this, SAP HANA System Replication provides the best protection against a variety of failures and downtime cases, and by far the best recovery solution, when considering recovery time, and disaster scenarios. It is therefore the recommended solution for highly critical business systems. Source: SAP HANA – High Availability FAQ HANA_HA_FAQ_2.0.pdf system replication “System replication w/o DATA preload” means “System replication without DATA preload” . In this scenario , This allows the secondary system to serve dual purposes, for instance as a development or test/QA system with separate storage. Before failover, these activities must of course be turned off. The tradeoff is a longer RTO in case of failover. RTO of the system replication with data preload is shortest.

28 IBM HA: Backup Although IBM have storage replication for SAP HANA HA solution, the RTO= hours and RPO= hours, which is not acceptable. Backup is not good choice for SAP HANA HA. Huawei FusionCube with internal distributed storage solution don’t have storage replication now . But you can see that IBM backup solution for SAP HANA is not a good choice, because RTO and RPO= hours. Huawei policy for SAP HANA HA is using system replication with data preload, because the RTO is shortest and RPO=0.

Production site Primary system System replication (sync) HA secondary system System replication is provided by SAP HANA software. Configure the system replication between the two sets of RH5885H V3. The service is provided by local SAP partner. The switch process includes the monitoring scripts ,DNS or load balance configuration and switch scripts. System replication is provided by SAP HANA software. Adaptations from most HW partners on the way. Huawei has a same solution with system replication.
