29 SRSA COMMUNITY MASS PARTICIPATION PROGRAMME Recruiting Volunteers (216) Will receive extensive training Each volunteer will receive a stipend of R1200 pm Programme will be launched end of July

30 SRSA NATIONAL ACADEMY Cabinet endorsed MTT recommendation to establish a National Academy Received R10.0m from the National Treasury – 2004/05 For 2004/05 – Two phases –Preparation of Olympic and Paralympic athletes for Athens –Follow process to conclude a PPP

31 SRSA NATIONAL ACADEMY OLYMPIC PREPARATION: –Highperformance centre UP: Olympics - Athletics, swimming, hockey, boxing, Taekwondo, Fencing –Accommodation, sports nutrition, sports medicine, vision, rehabilitation, physical strength and conditioning, physiotherapy, etc –Facilities

32 SRSA NATIONAL ACADEMY PARALYMPIC PREPARATION: –Stellenbosch University: Paralympics – full team –All sports science and sports medicine support –Accommodation, transport
