2 C y f r y n g a u & & M e d i a ICT in context In years 7, 8 and 9 students receive one hour a week of ICT tuition. Students will study a wide variety of topics ranging from robotics and control to digital puppeteering and music composition. In years 10 and 11, students can opt to follow one of two pathways in the department. There is a GCSE ICT pathway and a BTEC Creative Media Production pathway. Both pathways offer students five hours a fortnight of tuition. You can identity, and prioritise, three to four skills / personal qualities. It is important to know the diverse range of tasks involved in teaching ICT. Understand the different aspects of lesson planning for ICT. You can produce a lesson plan for, and perhaps deliver, a short ten minute lesson. You will very often have to do this at teaching job interviews. Identify some pedagogical and classroom management techniques. You can incorporate these techniques into your lesson plan. You can apply these techniques to your own classroom practice.
