2 What is Credit When It’s Due (CWID)?  $500,000 Lumina funded grant aimed at increasing degree completion rates for early transfer students  Awarded in October 2012; concludes by July 2015  Commonly referred to as reverse transfer  credits from university are transferred back to college

3 Charting the Future and Credit When It’s Due  1: Dramatically increase success of learners, especially those in diverse populations traditionally underserved by education  Credit When It’s Due participating state Oregon has reported 10% increase in University student retention after reverse transfer implementation  2: Develop a collaborative and coordinated academic planning process that advances affordability, transferability and access to our programs and services across the state.  By 2020: 74 % of all jobs in Minnesota will require some sort of postsecondary education  MN will need more people with credentials than any other state Source: Georgetown University Center on Workforce, 2013

4 What is Credit When It’s Due?  Designed to provide MnSCU colleges and universities with pre-analyzed lists of students who appear to be eligible for Associate in Arts degrees.  The candidate pool includes students who earned a minimum of 12 credits at a MnSCU college before transferring to a MnSCU university during fall 2008- 2012.  Approximately 11,600 students  An additional candidate pool has been identified of students who transferred to the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities and have completed the MnTC.  Approximately 450 students
