Theme: The role of women in integration and their meaningful participation in leadership at all levels so as to achieve sustainable development.
INTRODUCTION The deliberations were inspired by Zinduka festival 2013 whereby members suggested that in the spirit of integration, we should have the East Africa Women Leadership Institute as umbrella organization in the region that would empower women in many areas.
EAST AFRICA LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE JUSTIFICATION This is a mean by which we could further the integration process. The institute is a place for knowledge and info exchange. 1. Members felt that women have been oppressed and discriminated upon on various areas and that there was need for East African Women to have a voice. It was noted that in many of our countries, bad culture, breach of women's rights and discrimination of women in leadership was a reality. In legislation, trade, leadership and social places.
