In Pakistan about 65% of expecting women give birth at home.
These births, however, do not always bring happiness to a household.
In Pakistan, a mother dies every 30 minutes due to Postpartum Hemorrhage or excessive bleeding at childbirth.
This bleeding results in 276 maternal deaths per 100,000 live births. This is a grave situation.
But there is hope…
Across Pakistan, Through the training of health workers, Education of rural mothers,
And the use of S.T. MOM, an affordable tablet for Postpartum Hemorrhage,
We can save lives.
ZAFA is committed to improving mothers health by creating easy access to effective and inexpensive technologies at a large scale.
