1 Colorado Department of Revenue Division of Motor Vehicles Definition Tool for Vehicles with Three Wheels or Less This tool is designed to assist you in determining the correct definition as well as any title and or registration requirements for your 2 or 3 wheeled vehicle including: Motorcycles, Low-Power Scooters, Electrical Assist Bicycles, Electronic Personal Assistive Mobility Devices, Toy Vehicles, and standard Bicycles. 4 Colorado Department of Revenue Division of Motor Vehicles Is your vehicle self-propelled and designed primarily for travel on the public highway and generally used to carry a person or persons? Please answer NO if your vehicle is not designed, intended, or approved for use on the highway. –Vehicles commonly known as mini bikes, pocket bikes, kamikaze boards, go-peds, and standup scooters as well as off-highway vehicles such as ATVs and snowmobiles are not approved for travel on the public highway. 6 Colorado Department of Revenue Division of Motor Vehicles Based on the criteria you provided, your vehicle is classified as a Motorcycle in the State of Colorado CRS (55) Meets the statutory definition of a motor vehicle CRS (58); and Uses a device such as handlebars to steer; and Is designed to travel with not more than three wheels in contact with the ground; and Does not include Low-Power Scooter REQUIREMENTS: Valid driver’s license with motorcycle endorsement Certificate of Title and vehicle registration (license plates) Proof of valid insurance EXIT

NOTE: A manual clutch is used to manually shift through the different gears of a vehicle’s transmission mechanism. If you don’t have to manually shift gears on your vehicle, then you do not have a manual clutch.
