1 Colorado Department of Revenue Division of Motor Vehicles 1 Basic Special Mobile Machinery Title and Registration Tool This tool is designed to assist you in identifying whether or not your vehicle is special mobile machinery and provide information about any title and or registration requirements. 2 Colorado Department of Revenue Division of Motor Vehicles 2 Special Mobile Machinery (SMM) means any machinery that is pulled, hauled or driven over a highway and is either a vehicle or equipment that is not designed primarily for the transportation of persons or cargo over the public highway; or a motor vehicle that may have been originally designed for the transportation of persons or cargo and has been redesigned or modified by the addition of equipment or machinery and is only incidentally operated or moved over the public highways. Special Mobile Machinery includes vehicles commonly used in the construction, maintenance, and repair of roadways, the drilling of wells, and the digging of ditches. CRS (93.5) This tool is not designed for certain vehicles including: –All-terrain vehicles (ATVs) or Snowmobiles –Office trailers or standard trailers –Machinery with multiple pieces of mounted equipment –Farm Equipment operated solely on an agricultural site –Special Use Trucks – RULE 33 Special Use Trucks RULE 33 Special Use Trucks –Vehicles that are not Special Mobile Machinery CONTINUE EXIT
