Course Objectives: After completing the course, you will demonstrate how to design and create a website using WordPress. After completing the course, you will be able to describe potential copyright and internet etiquette issues. During the course, you will demonstrate communicating and collaborating skills by working in groups, participating in class, providing feedback, and presenting assignments.
Class Schedule: DayActivities / Assignments Monday 1.Review lesson objectives, class schedule and rubric. 2.Assign groups. 3.Accessing and setting up an account in WordPress.com. 4.Group practice. 5.Assignment One – internet etiquette and copyright (slide due Tuesday by 8:00 p.m.). 6.Question and Answer session. Wedn. 1.Assignment One presentations. 2.Class discussion. 3.Assignment Two – site map / peer feedback (due to Peer Thursday by 8:00 p.m., site map and feedback forms due to Instructor Friday by 8:00 p.m.). 4.Question and Answer session. Friday 1.How to setup webpages and utilize the appearance tab in WordPress. 2.Group practice. 3.Question and Answer session. 4.Final Assignment – begin creating your individual e-Portfolio website in preparation for class presentation (presentation in Wedn. class). Monday 1.How to manage and add content in WordPress. 2.Group practice. 3.Question and Answer session. 4.Final Assignment – wrap-up final e-Portfolio website for class presentation in Wedn. class). Wedn.1.Student presentations and feedback. 2.Question and Answer session. 3.Additional resources. 4.Class evaluations. 5.Final assignment – after receiving feedback or reviewing the additional resources provide final website to Instructor Friday by 8:00 p.m.).

Assignment Two: Requirements Must have at least a home page, a projects page, and a contact page. Additional pages allowed. Be creative! Provide site map to peer by Thursday, 8:00 p.m. Provide feedback using the peer feedback form available in Blackboard to your peer by Friday, 5:00 p.m. Provide site map and both peer feedback forms to instructor by Friday, 8:00 p.m.
