Sensory Impressions By Destiny Marsden
The University Of Winnipeg The University Of Winnipeg is located at 515 Portage Ave. There are many resources and opportunities on campus. My favorite place to study is the Aboriginal Student Centre; it is on the 2 nd floor of the University.
The Aboriginal Student Centre The Aboriginal Student Centre is a place where university students can go to study before or after classes. The Aboriginal student council offers a variety of support services in the areas of: academics, support services, and liaison services. For first year transition students they offer peer tutoring and employer speaker series.
Sight/Smell As I walk into the student lounge I can smell the scent of sage lingering in the air knowing that someone had just smudged before I arrived. Along the hallway I can see the support staff’s offices lined up. What always catches my eye are the beautiful native cultural pictures and dream catchers hanging on the walls in the room.
Sound I can hear the sound of keyboards and mice clicking, the sound of students sighing, or coughing once in a while, and the whispers of some students conversing with one another as they study.
Feel As I am studying my assignment I am sitting on a black metal and padded chair. My eyes pass back and forth from the computer screen and I touch the keyboard once in awhile. My fingers slip through the pages while I go through my notes.
Taste I can taste the premium roast coffee on my tongue and the scent of it on my scarf because I spilled a little on it. I think Mc Donald’s coffee is the best, much better than Tim Horton’s. That is my opinion.
