WEB APPLICATION MODULE (Portal / Menus and their interconnections) 8 This is a simple diagram of how logical entities as ports, and terminals, and indicators are interconnected between them

WEB APPLICATION MODULE (The Ports & their categories) Ports types in icons presentation 9 Every time the user selects a port category, from the ports’ menu, the system presents the location of all ports of the category with the same icon but in different colour. When the user selects “Show all” the system shows all different ports in all different categories. When the user selects “Hide all” the system hides all previously selected ports

WEB APPLICATION MODULE (Ports & Categories ) Sea Ports Dry Ports Inland Ports Clusters 10 When the system allocates many entities (here ports), near to each other, it creates an entity cluster showing one icon for many single entities. When the cluster is under 10 items, the cluster icon is blue with the number of the entities in the middle of the icon. Similarly when the items are 10-99 the icon colour is orange and when it is 100-999, the icon is red

Real time VTS Future, Real Time Statistics 11 WEB APPLICATION MODULE (Ports Analysis) How the system’s VTS application is working, it will be explained at the end of this manual.

WEB APPLICATION MODULE (Ports Analysis) 12 Ports is a central information entity, where almost all other entities are connected with, one way or another with ports. From the Port record a user can access: Directly, 1.The port’s general information 2.The contact person and his information 3.The VTS (AIS) map and the vessels around the port area, selected automatically, by selecting AIS on the page menu. 4.Statistical analysis of different cargo and passengers movements for an extensive time span and, Indirectly 1.The web site of the port, 2.All ships IDs in the port 3.The Holding & shipping companies Future 1.Data analytics for a number of statistical analysisyears on line and on real time basis by data category (Goods ranking, Passenger ranking, Goods specialisation, Goods specialisation, Passenger, specialisation, Passenger specialisation, Relative goods market share, Relative goods market share, Relative passenger market share, Relative passenger market share) 2. Extrapolation information of the next years data per port and data category

WEB APPLICATION MODULE (Terminals ) Containers Terminals Car Terminal Passengers terminal Cruise Terminals Port of Piraeus Piraeus Port 13 One Port may have many Terminals. This is an example of the port of Piraeus where there are more than one terminals, with different operators, all belonging to the port of Piraeus

WEB APPLICATION MODULE (Terminals – map ) Terminal types in icons presentation Low level Clustering Medium level Clustering 14 Whatever is working for Ports it is working for Terminals

WEB APPLICATION MODULE ( Terminals Analysis ) 15 The system’s VTS application

WEB APPLICATION MODULE ( Terminals Analysis ) 16 Terminals is the second more important entity to the e- platform database. It is almost identical with a port information and deals with, 1.General Information 2.Terminal Operator’s information 3.Statistics and 4.AIS (VTS). Indirectly the system offers, 1.information on all ships appearing on the VTS map. 2.Information about its present status, 3.ETA (Estimate time of arrival) 4.Shipping company information, and much more

WEB APPLICATION MODULE (Accidents - map) Low level Clustering Medium level Clustering High level Clustering Accidents types in icons presentation 17

WEB APPLICATION MODULE (Accidents Analysis) 18 By selecting an icon on the accidents map, the system will open a series of information for the ship involved and the information on the incident itself The information pages includes, 1.Accident’s data 2.Accident’s effect 3.Ship data 4.Photos for the incident, and photos for the ship involved

WEB APPLICATION MODULE (Law & Legislation) The countries having available law & legislation data on maritime law, are in grey colour. The countries with such information are automatically changing colour by selecting / deselecting the “Law & Legislation” entry in the menu, to the left of the page 19

20 WEB APPLICATION MODULE (Law & Legislation Analysis) By selecting a country (only with grey colour) the system opens a window over the maps with the following information 1.The country name and the total number of legal documents kept in the database 2.A list of all relevant records as a list with info on ID, Code, Summary, Keywords and date, to choose from. 3.A special search entry, to write whatever the user remembers about his case, in any way possible. The system uses “free text search”, in all fields of the database.

21 WEB APPLICATION MODULE (Law & Legislation Analysis) By selecting a line from the list and clicking any where on the line, the e-platform opens a complementary page with more specific information on the selected case. The new page offers information on, 1.Issue date 2.Partners code responsible for this information 3.A summary of the case 4.A thematic classification 5.Keywords referring to the original document, and 6.An attachment file name. This file name is “clickable”. Actually It is a link to the attached document referring to.

22 WEB APPLICATION MODULE (Law & Legislation Analysis) By selecting the link on the bottom of the information page (with blue characters), the system brings up the document behind the link name. Usually this document is the original legal document providing the law / legislation and the opportunity for the existence of this legal record

WEB APPLICATION MODULE (Ship Liners & Routes) 23 Selecting the “Ship Lines”, the system opens a new page asking for, 1.The type of the liner (Cruise, Passengers, etc.), and 2. A stop over port, that we are interested It is important to know that the list of the ports, are different depending on the selected liner. To be more specific, when the ship line selected type is “containers”, the system connects you ONLY to container terminals available in the database.

24 Route Selection WEB APPLICATION MODULE (Ship Routes - Line Selection) Completing the pair of the questions by the pull down menus, the system presents all possible cases of different ships lines meeting the above two criteria.
