15 Self Sustaining Community Walls daughters’ families were not the only people on the train To qualify to ride, the rider must have a trade (i.e., farmer, carpenter, black smith, quartermaster, etc.) With all the tradesmen, the train contained a self-sustaining town unto itself.

16 Why Move to Indian Territory Because they were hand- picked and recruited by LB Tatum to go to Indian Territory Blacks had a vote in Indian Territory from the beginning of settlement Blacks settled the Indian Territory Blacks were the law in Indian Territory There was a lot of talk and rumors about Oklahoma being a black state, so black moved there in large numbers.
