4 AJ M ISSION S TATEMENT Asha-Jyothi (AJ) is a volunteer based non-profit organization dedicated to serving the needs of underprivileged by providing access to Education and Healthcare. AJ’s mission is guided by our core values of strength, commitment, collaboration, and integrity. ❖ Strength -- What we can accomplish as a group is much greater than what can be accomplished individually. ❖ Commitment -- A sense of commitment to give back to the community. ❖ Collaboration -- We believe in promoting the core values of the organization through collaboration, above and beyond cultural boundaries. ❖ Integrity -- All AJ activities and operations will be conducted with professional integrity and will be transparent for all members, partners and outside organizations.

30 Y OUR C AMPAIGNS – FAQ’ S Here are some FAQ’s that will help you understand Your Campaign and its concept What kind of charges are part of the operational costs of a program. There are costs like Credit Card processing charges, Wire Transfer charges and the actual cost of the project which may include cost of material, transportation and distribution costs etc. What kind of support does AJ provide. AJ can execute the whole project or parts of the project as agreed prior to the start of the project. In many cases AJ has asked volunteers to participate in the actual donation, help in identifying suppliers, leveraged their Bulk purchase capability to get good pricing with vendors and above all bring a transparent structure to any and all projects. Will you transfer the money to my relative who will execute the whole project. Sorry we cannot transfer funds to Individuals but we can assign a volunteer to make payments to the vendors at the time of purchasing after verifying that there are no excessive charges being levied by the Vendors. We can get a lower price on items without bills, is it ok. Sorry being a socially responsible organization AJ will ask for Bills, wherever possible, and pay any applicable taxes for any purchases made. What if AJ does not have volunteers in the area, my project is being executed. When the project is set up and agreed to AJ officer’s will explain how the project will be executed and how it will be documented and in cases where a Volunteer is not available, AJ will find other ways to document the program. In many cases our donors have turned into Volunteers. We welcome any suggestions and will do our very best to help you achieve your goal.
