Agenda, good place to exchanges these views. France Put $50,000 into the platform to confirm commitment. GAA is a good platform to feed global policy discussion on sustainable ag. Lsk needs more presence in these discussions. Alternative to traditional approach of developing guidelines that often ignored once developed. Platform is innovative, because mulitstakeholder representation. GAA is THE global platform Gates Foundation happy to help develop standards for policy makers in developing countries – through GAA. can be a bridge to functional links with other global initiatives (e.g. LEAP and other national initiatives)

GAA needs to help give participants of GAA arguments to take back to their governments to make case for commitment (concern of multiple countries). donors have more than just policy support and money. Knowledge from initiatives such as South-South can be used more effectively. Experiences are often kept within ministries and seldom shared. Need to spread info about GAA with partners. E.g. france and Netherlands share info and coordinate on FAO issues. Can continue to raise issues in COAG at FAO.

4. how do we get global organizations on board? E.g. WB and IFAD. Focus Areas have good science based agenda. But doesn’t work for as well for policy makers.
