GOD IS OUR DELIVERER!
Question: "What should we learn from the account of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego?" Answer: ABILILTY: God is able to deliver ACTION: Deliverance requires acts of faith and trust APPLIED: Deliverance may be found in and not from circumstances
GOD IS OUR DELIVERER! ABILILTY: God is able to deliver Malachi 3:6a Hebrews 13:8 (God is unchanging!) Ephesians 3:20 (God is ABLE) Matthew 8:26 (Where is your faith?) To know is not to be intellectually informed about some abstract principle, but to apprehend and experience reality. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (THIS is God’s will for you IN the circumstances)
GOD IS OUR DELIVERER! ACTION: Deliverance requires acts of faith and trust v17-18 “If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God whom we serve is able to save us. He will rescue us from your power, Your Majesty. But even if he doesn’t, we want to make it clear to you, Your Majesty, that we will never serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up.” Job 13:15 (God is the only one who can deliver) 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (Fix your eyes on what is to come)
GOD IS OUR DELIVERER! APPLIED: Deliverance may be found in and not from circumstances James Noel Snr. said – God decided to deliver Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the furnace, not from it. 2 Corinthians 5:7 (Walk by faith) Matthew 28:20 (He is always with us) Matthew 25:41, 46 (He will save us for eternity)
GOD IS OUR DELIVERER! FOOTSTEPS… I don't understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me." He whispered, "My precious child, I love you and will never leave you Never, ever, during your trials and testings. When you saw only one set of footprints, It was then that I carried you.“ (Mary Stevenson)
GOD IS OUR DELIVERER! The danger is that the primary goal of my life becomes furnace-avoidance…. ….We avoid even low-level flames. God decided to deliver Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the furnace, not from it. He says, “ Fear not, though you pass through the flames they will not burn you, they will not destroy you.” He says, “ I’ll meet you in the furnace.”
