!!! Actuality:  Recent statistics shows that 59% of the world navigates the Internet between 4-8 h and more  The most frequent user is: the adolescent  !!! ~18%- adolescents in the world suffer from Internet Addiction..

These data inform about the existence of an adolescent’s preference for the Internet environment, leading to form a specific online behaviour between the limits of norm and addiction. Consequently, it was opened a wide area of socio-humanitarian research with the main goal to study the phenomenon of the adolescent’s Internet use.

m Expresses User’s Self without social blaming Real Self or Imaginary Self (Turkle, McKenna) m Facilitates communication Introversive compensative effect, expressing undeveloped parts (Jung, Norton, Kraut) m Establishing new social relationshipsde relaii sociale noi,, finding/forming new interest groups Compensates the feeling of isolation and loneliness (Brewer, Bettencourt, Sheldon), training many social roles to develop their identity (Ericson) Contributes to develop an addictive behaviour Patologic usage of online games and hazard activities ( Young, LaRose, Lin, Eastin )

Problem: It does not exist a definite psychological profile of the adolescent internet-user.So, The current research conceptualizes the use of the Internet as a complex human activity influenced by personality characteristics. the content of psychological profile of the adolescent Internet-user depends on time he spends navigating/staying online. Hypothesis: it is supposed that the content of psychological profile of the adolescent Internet-user depends on time he spends navigating/staying online. Goal: to determine the relationship between personality factors and time navigated online.

 Methodology: The experimental group consisted of 200 adolescents of 15-19 years who were given a questionnaire on their online activity and time they spend online per day. Consequently, based on online time indices 2 groups of subjects (each by 50) were selected to study their personality profiles in terms of normal rate of time (0-3 hour daily), high level (4-5 hours per day) and very high (6-10 hours). Methods: Passive and active observation within online environment (sites), interviews, questionnaire on online activity and personality tests, statistical analysis (One-Sample T-Test, Pearson’s test)

As a result, it was stated that the character of the adolescent’s virtual activity, which may vary from normal browsing or chatting to exaggerate virtual gambling, depends on his/her personality profile, showing the most representative differences in terms of the traits such as Shyness and Boldness; Inhibition and Dynamics, Trust and Suspicion, Anxiety and Adaptability, Self-Power, Self- Assessment, and Ego identity Status. 

 This way, the adolescent Internet-user who does not exceed the normal online time stay appears to be: dynamic, bold, trustful, Self- confident, able to adapt to new circumstances, etc.  On the other hand, the exceeding navigation in terms of time values is determined by the following personality factors such as: shyness, inhibition, suspicion, anxiety, weak Self-power, which lead the user to look for possibilities to compensate them virtually, thus manifesting an internet addictive behaviour. 
