Started in 2002 by former Fulton County GIS Supervisor, Roger Freytag. Met 1 - 2 times a year in the beginning and now we try to meet quarterly. Main purpose is to give local GIS users a chance to meet, share information, and ask questions in an informal, supportive atmosphere. Our meetings also support users by providing opportunities to give presentations, co-host, and present map displays which can be used to meet some of the GISP criteria.
We currently operate only through email notifications. There are 119 people on the email list. Average attendance is around 10 – 20. We have a mix of members from educational, public and private organizations. We are always open to new ideas and interests and encourage our members to get involved with planning and facilitating meetings.
