A child in Peru
She cannot go to school
She does not have a birth certificate
They cannot travel to get her registered

3. What is a right? Explain what is a right
To have a birth certificate is a right
To go to school is also a right

4. Development Discuss with children what rights they (should) have
The children create their own rights (in pairs)
The class then do an activity to express the rights they think they should have through the activity with the ball of string

5. Conclusion
The list the children made will be compared with the UN Declaration of The Rights of a Child
A follow on activity from this would be to take the children on a trip to an Orphanage to donate toys/clothes they have made
A scheme could be set up in the school to collect tins of food to send to third world countries
