Thank you for your interest in our web distributed notes from our weekly bible studies. Some content had to be removed from these slides for copyright purposes, and thus the slides by themselves can be difficult to follow without the original animation sequences, and accompanying notes from the actual study, but we pray that you will still find them useful. You may send any questions to myself at and I will try and get answers back to you in a timely manner. You may re-use these slides in your own bible studies, both personal and public, and arrangements can be made for accompanying notes and original slide presentations once copyright issues have been resolved. May God bless your effort, and may you grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Pastor Jerry Eyers Quinn River Baptist Fellowship

Evidence of Design??

The Book of Esther History of Cryptography Cryptography exists in two parts. The hiding of a message (cryptology) and the deciphering of a hidden message (cryptanalysis). Cryptography has existed for thousands of years, but really had it’s beginnings in the form we know it in the middle ages. At that time the Jewish Rabbi’s were at their “peak” of popularity (if you can call it that). Every monarch wanted to have a Jewish Rabbi on their staff. They were known for their skill and knowledge. The monarch’s of that day, using the Rabbi’s knowledge, devised methods of hiding messages within other messages (cryptology = the art of hiding a message). The knowledge of the Rabbi’s came from their familiarity of such methods within their venerated Torah. As more and more methods were utilized, the art of breaking these messages was born (cryptanalysis = the art of deciphering encrypted messages). As history went on, we arrive at World War II where the Germans employed the first standardized mechanical cryptograph machine known as the ‘Enigma’ machine. This led Mr. Turing to develop the methodology of a mechanical, repetitive method of analysis that was the basis for the first computers. That led to further computer development, until you arrive at today where the computers, inspired by the original Rabbinical work on cryptography now allow us to examine the original biblical texts and rediscover the encrypted messages that started the whole thing! Full circle!

Are there hidden codes in the scriptures? Many people claim that God wouldn’t hide codes in the bible, and become greatly offended if you suggest otherwise. Isa 57:15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. Isa 46:9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, Isa 46:10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure: Pro 25:2 It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter. Isa 28:9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. Isa 28:10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: Are you a king (according to the scriptures)? Absolutely. In fact, not only are you a king and a priest, according to Isaiah 57:15, you are already in heaven!! (outside time)

Types of Cryptography Acrostic: The hiding of a message within a body of text by letter placement within the ‘plain text’ to reveal the ‘relevant text’. Examples: - taking the first letter of every word You and I don’t say the “National Aeronautics and Space Administration”, we say NASA. We don’t say “RAdio Detection And Ranging”, we say RADAR. The computer industry is famous for those: RAM, ROM, EPROM, CPU, DVD, CDROM, etc. We have way too many TLA’s (Three Letter Acronyms!!) Psalm 37, 111, 112, and 119 are all built upon an Acrostic of the Jewish Alphabet (22 leters). Proverbs 31:10-31 – same thing. The entire book of Lamentations is in groups (4x22). - taking the last letter of every word - taking every Nth letter of a sentence (one are the ELS, or Equidistant Letter Sequences) Ex: Rips explained that each code is a case of adding every fourth letter to form a word. - using an overlay to highlight the relevant text (a ‘Cardano Grill’) - using a predefined pattern for picking the relevant text out from within the plain text (Example: The movie ‘National Treasure’ finds a clue on the back of the Declaration of Independence using an ‘Ottendorf Cipher’, with the Silence Dogood letters as the plain text. An ‘Ottendorf Cipher’ gives you a series of three numbers which define the page, paragraph, and letter which forms the message.)

Types of Cryptography Transposition: The hiding of the ‘relevant text’ by character substitution. Examples: - Albam – taking the first half of the alphabet and placing it over the second half, then substituting the appropriate letter Example: ABCDEFGHIJKLM NOPQRSTUVWXYZ ‘HELLO’ would become ‘URYYB’ Jeremiah 25:26 & 51:41; Jeremiah 51:1 - Atbash – taking and reversing the second half Dan 5:25 And this is the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN. Where is Babylon with respect to Jerusalem? East. All languages point to Jerusalem. They couldn’t read it because it was written vertically and backwards. Daniel, knowing scripture, was able to determine it was written as a language East of Jerusalem should be and could read it.

Codes in the bible: In Deuteronomy chapters 31, 32, and 33, God is telling Moses that after his death the children of Israel will abandon him and follow strange gods, and that He will bring judgment upon them for that. Also, if they don’t turn back to Him the second time, He will multiply their punishment by seven. Deu 31:16 And the LORD said unto Moses, Behold, thou shalt sleep with thy fathers; and this people will rise up, and go a whoring after the gods of the strangers of the land, whither they go to be among them, and will forsake me, and break my covenant which I have made with them. Deu 31:17 Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall befall them; so that they will say in that day, Are not these evils come upon us, because our God is not among us? Deu 31:18 And I will surely hide my face in that day for all the evils which they shall have wrought, in that they are turned unto other gods. Statistically speaking, the chances of any word appearing encoded in the text (by chance) should be the same through the entire text. What is unique about the scriptures is that every encoding so far that has been found has been located around the relevant plain text. That implies design of the highest order. Hitler, Auschwitz, Holocaust, The Holocaust, Crematorium for my sons, In Poland, Plagues, The Fuhrer, Eichmann, King of the Nazis, Genocide, Auschwitz, Germany, Hitler, Mein Kampf

Codes in the bible: In all four gospels, the point is made that a sign is put on the cross declaring Jesus as the king of the Jews. The chief priests come unglued and ask Pilate to change it. Pilate refuses. Joh 19:19 And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was, JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS. Joh 19:20 This title then read many of the Jews: for the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh to the city: and it was written in Hebrew, and Greek, and Latin. Joh 19:21 Then said the chief priests of the Jews to Pilate, Write not, The King of the Jews; but that he said, I am King of the Jews. Joh 19:22 Pilate answered, What I have written I have written. Why would the Pharisees and Chief Priests be upset over what Pilate had written, and why would Pilate insist on keeping it?? When written in Hebrew: (of the) Jews(the) King(of) NazerethJesus HaYehudimw’MelechHaNazareiYeshua HWHY = Acrostic of ‘YHWH’

Est 1:20 And when the king's decree which he shall make shall be published throughout all his empire, (for it is great,) all the wives shall give to their husbands honour, both to great and small. What ‘husband’ is going to be honored by those both great and small?? Y H W H Formed by the initial letters because it is an initial event Written backwards because God is going to ‘turn back’ the events upon them

Est 5:4 And Esther answered, If it seem good unto the king, let the king and Haman come this day unto the banquet that I have prepared for him. Who has prepared for us a banquet?? H W H Y Formed by the initial letters because God is initiating the action Written forwards because He is ruling and causing Esther to act

Est 5:13 Yet all this availeth me nothing, so long as I see Mordecai the Jew sitting at the king's gate. Who is waiting for us at the ‘King’s gate’ when we get to heaven (hint: Not Peter)?? Y H W H Formed by the final letters because Haman’s end was approaching Written backwards because God is overruling Haman’s gladness and turning back his council

Est 7:7 And the king arising from the banquet of wine in his wrath went into the palace garden: and Haman stood up to make request for his life to Esther the queen; for he saw that there was evil determined against him by the king. Who is going to execute judgment against the evil world?? H W H Y Formed by the final letters because Haman’s end has come Written forwards because God has ruling and has brought about the end He determined

1) Memucan(chapter 1:20) 2) Esther(chapter 5:4) 3) Haman(chapter 5:13) 4) Writer(chapter 7:7) Each of these four acrostics are formed by four unique speakers: Initial Letters Final Letters Forward Backward Forward Backward Gentile Jew Gentile Jew Concerning a Queen By a Queen By Haman Concerning Haman

Est 7:5 Then the king Ahasuerus answered and said unto Esther the queen, Who is he, and where is he, that durst presume in his heart to do so? Who is it that ‘dares’ to accomplish his will over man’s will?? (Sh/S) H Y H= ‘I Am’ The very name God used to declare Himself the last time he overruled man’s schemes and rescued His people!

Est 1:3 In the third year of his reign, he made a feast unto all his princes and his servants; the power of Persia and Media, the nobles and princes of the provinces, being before him: Equidistant Letter Sequences (ELS) At the first ‘mem’, on an offset step of 8: Messiah

Est 4:17 So Mordecai went his way, and did according to all that Esther had commanded him. Who came from the Lord and did all that was commanded of him?? At the first ‘yod’, on an offset step of 8: In Hebrew = “Yeshua” Transliterated = “Joshua” Translated into Greek = “Jesus”

Est 4:2 And came even before the king's gate: for none might enter into the king's gate clothed with sackcloth. None may enter improperly clothed. Mat 22:8 Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy. Mat 22:9 Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage. Mat 22:10 So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests. Mat 22:11 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment: Mat 22:12 And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. Mat 22:13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Starting at the Aleph and going every 7: El Shaddai = The Almighty!

Est 3:11 And the king said unto Haman, The silver is given to thee, the people also, to do with them as it seemeth good to thee. Est 3:12 Then were the king's scribes called on the thirteenth day of the first month, and there was written according to all that Haman had commanded unto the king's lieutenants, and to the governors that were over every province, and to the rulers of every people of every province according to the writing thereof, and to every people after their language; in the name of king Ahasuerus was it written, and sealed with the king's ring. The Holy Spirit is so upset and incensed at this action, that He can’t resist putting in the text, starting at the first ‘heh’ (which means spirit, btw) and counting every 6: You know what? Haman and Satan Stink!!

Evidence of Design?? You bet! Next week: We are off and running in the New Testament in the book of Jude!
