86 Developers Rules In order to develop the game for use in a local community, game developers should follow the following steps:  Develop a suitable issue from everyday life, and understand how it impacts the local community.  Introduce a story element into the situation, involving a conflict situation that needs to be solved.  Understand the various responses that the community could have to this situation, and their outcomes.  Develop a story hierarchy for the situation, based on three levels of decisions and outcomes.  Develop three decision alternatives solutions for each level will. As a result, 27 distinct decision possibilities have been developed.  The decision scenarios will be placed within a slide structure, with each slide leading to three suggested alternatives, and by clicking the user follows through the decision tree to the selected outcome, which in turn leads to three more possibilities, and so on.  If the player feels he is going in the wrong direction, a ‘back’ link allows him to backtrack by one step, and a ‘start again’ link allows him to start once again from the game opening.  Once the end is reached, the player is either congratulated on attaining the correct outcome, or his mistake is described, and the player is invited to try again. Only one of the 27 outcomes is determined as ‘correct.’
