PRINCIPLES  UNDERSTANDING HOW God Thinks: –EDEN:  Disobedience Brought: “thou shalt surely die!”  Gen 2:17 and of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, thou dost not eat of it, for in the day of thine eating of it--dying thou dost die.‘ (YLT)  Judgment

JUDGMENT  Rom 2:16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.  –All at a set time:

 Dan 12:1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.  Dan 12:2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.   Rom 14:12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. – A process

 Psa 49:10 We see that wise people die, and so do stupid fools. Then their money is left for someone else.  Psa 49:11 The grave will be their home forever and ever, although they once had land of their own.  Psa 49:12 Our human glory disappears, and, like animals, we die. CEV  Psa 49:20 Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.  CAR

DRIVER’S LICENSE  Learn to drive  Learn the laws  Learn the signs  Driver’s test  They know that I know what is proper driving  KNOWL = RESP

KNOWLEDGE = RESPONSIBILITY  Joh 15:22 If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin.  Joh 15:23 He that hateth me hateth my Father also.  Joh 15:24 If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.  PHARISEES

PHARISEES  Joh 9:41 Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.  Joh 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

KNOWLEDGE = RESPONSIBILITY  2Co 2:15 For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:  2Co 2:16 To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?  CITIES

 Mat 11:20 Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not:  Mat 11:21 Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.  Mat 11:22 But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you.  Mat 11:23 And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.

 2Pe 2:21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

HOW RESPONSIBLE?  STEPS:  Rom 1:18 From heaven God shows how angry he is with all the wicked and evil things that sinful people do to crush the truth.  Rom 1:19 They know everything that can be known about God, because God has shown it all to them.  Rom 1:20 God's eternal power and character cannot be seen. But from the beginning of creation, God has shown what these are like by all he has made. That's why those people don't have any excuse. CEV

 Act 16:29 Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,  Act 16:30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?  Responsible to find out!  Young bro who realized he was already resp  NEXT STEP

NEXT STEP  Act 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?  Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. .

 Act 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.  Act 2:40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.  Act 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls  MAKING PROGRESS

MAKING PROGRESS  LEARN OF GOD  LEARN ABOUT GOD  ACCEPT HIS WORD  ACT ON IT  DONE?

DONE?  Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.  (Rom 8:12)  Heb 10:28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:  Heb 10:29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

GROWING UP  Heb 6:1 We must try to become mature and start thinking about more than just the basic things we were taught about Christ. We shouldn't need to keep talking about why we ought to turn from deeds that bring death and why we ought to have faith in God.  Heb 6:2 And we shouldn't need to keep teaching about baptisms or about the laying on of hands or about people being raised from death and the future judgment.  Heb 6:3 Let's grow up, if God is willing.  Heb 6:4 But what about people who turn away after they have already seen the light and have received the gift from heaven and have shared in the Holy Spirit? What about those who turn away after they have received the good message of God and the powers of the future world? There is no way to bring them back. What they are doing is the same as nailing the Son of God to a cross and insulting him in public! CEV

HOLDING FAST  Heb 10:22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.  Heb 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)  Heb 10:24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:  Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.  Heb 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,  Heb 10:27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.  CLEVER MANKIND

 REMOVE THE REQUIREMENT –Make a god that answers to man (idolatry) –Eliminate a God altogether (evolution) –Principles

NEW METHOD  Declare that we are only responsible if we have entered into covenant with God.  OFFICER o’mALLEY

COVENANT / COMMANDS  Jer 11:1 The LORD God told me to say to the people of Judah and Jerusalem: I, the LORD, am warning you that I will put a curse on anyone who doesn't keep the agreement I made with Israel. So pay attention to what it says.  Jer 11:4 My commands haven't changed since I brought your ancestors out of Egypt, a nation that seemed like a blazing furnace where iron ore is melted. I told your ancestors that if they obeyed my commands, I would be their God, and they would be my people. CEV

COVENANT / COMMANDS  Deu 4:13 The LORD said he was making an agreement with you, and he told you that your part of the agreement is to obey the Ten Commandments. Then the LORD wrote these Commandments on two flat stones.  Deu 4:14 That's when the LORD commanded me to give you the laws and teachings you must obey in the land that you will conquer west of the Jordan River. CEV  Jonah

JONAH  Called by God to preach to Nineveh  Didn’t want to go there  Went on board ship to hide from God  Can’t be done  Held responsible, and shown that he couldn’t avoid the responsibility  Sent to do the job he was asked to

CONCLUSION:  We don’t have to agree to serve God, and we don’t have to have been baptized into Christ in order to become responsible to judgment.  WE JUST NEED TO KNOW THAT IS REQUIRED!

 Jam 4:8 Come near to God, and he will come near to you. Clean up your lives, you sinners. Purify your hearts, you people who can't make up your mind. CEV  Jam 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
