Planning – Each year they could replace only 7 or 8 of the 26 labs, and wanted to put the newest technology in the most-used labs. Additional Funding – They wanted to create a new open lab, but couldn’t prove that the existing open labs were fully utilized. Departments - some wanted new computers in a lab, but IT wanted to show that the lab wasn’t as used as other labs on campus. Students – they often had to walk around campus to visit 2 or 3 open labs before finding an available computer. They wanted to prevent this.
