1 Introduction This project is about a great mathematician that made a chain of numbers that are called Fibonacci number chain. In this PowerPoint I will tell you who he was, and what kind of math he made. B By:Gavin,age 10

2 Who Was Fibonacci? People say he was the greatest mathematician of the middle ages. He was born in Pisa (Italy) the city with the leaning tower of Pisa. Fibonacci’s name is pronounced (fib-oh-arch-ee). He was born on c. 1180. He died on c. 1250. His other job besides a mathematician he was a merchant. 3 Fibonacci Numbers Fibonacci numbers are numbers that are added one after the other. For example: 0,1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21,34,55…….These are only the first 12 patterns though. 4 Rabbit Sequence I can tell you a bit about the Fibonacci rabbit sequence. I can tell you a bit about the Fibonacci rabbit sequence. 5 Tree Sequence The tree sequence is when on the first part of the tree you have the first number of the Fibonacci sequence the second part there is still one branch it could go on like this forever. The taller the tree the more Fibonacci numbers. The Fibonacci sequence is in elephants because their tusks are curved, and another animal that uses the Fibonacci sequence is the big-horned sheep. The Fibonacci sequence is also in flowers. It is shown in a very cool way. Cosmos have 8 petals and the daises have 13, 21, 34, 55, 89 depending on the variety. The Fibonacci sequence is all around us in math, and science, and of course nature. 7 Pascal’s Triangle Pascal’s triangle isn't as hard as it looks. To figure out the number you are working on look at the two numbers above the one you are trying to figure out. Add them together and you will get your number.

9 Equiangular Spiral The equiangular spiral is pretty much the Fibonacci sequence. Say you were to use grid paper you find two squares close to the bottom right corner.
