Welcome to the World of Teacher Exchange
What Is a Teacher Exchange? A teacher exchange is an easy and secure chance for a teacher and family to explore another culture
You literally trade jobs and homes for a year
You continue to be paid by your home jurisdiction
You retain all seniority and benefits because you are still an employee of your board
Why Do an Exchange?
It provides unparalleled opportunities for both professional and personal growth and adventure
An exchange is usually a landmark in both your personal and professional life

Designated by the Ministries of Education in British Columbia, Ontario, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and New Brunswick to facilitate teacher exchanges

~ Denmark ~ Switzerland ~ Germany
~ All Australian states ~ United States (Colorado and Washington) ~ Other Canadian provinces
Who Can Go?
There are no restrictions in terms of age or family

You should have five years experience, be flexible and have a great sense of humour and adventure!
You must be approved by your principal and your district as an exemplary teacher
When Do I Do This?
Northern Hemisphere Destinations Applications should be submitted by Christmas preceding the September start
Southern Hemisphere Destinations Applications should be submitted by the end of January, one year in advance
Earlier is always better
What is the Process?
Applications are exchanged between CEEF and the foreign exchange authorities
Through daily discussion, possible matches are identified by the exchange authorities
At that time, CEEF will contact you
To see if you are interested in exploring a particular potential match
If all looks good, a formal proposal package is sent to your principal
For school and district approval prior to your getting it for your consideration
Then it is up to you!
What is the Cost? Nominal application fee of $150 plus HST
