OUR AGENDA Highlight St. Mary’s University priorities Review Dr. Boettcher’s “learning experience framework” Change in our digital world Discuss teaching and learning opportunities in a digital world Q & A
► Educate for formation in faith ► Provide an integral quality education ► Educate in the family spirit ► Educate for service, justice and peace ► Educate for adaptation and change
Do you believe there is a digital revolution in education now?
Sniff – sniffs out change early before others are aware of it Scurry – sees what is needed and takes action immediately (scurries into action) Hem – “hems and haws” in a new situation and wishes the change wasn’t happening. Haw – laughs at himself for not wanting to change, then moves on to explore the maze and comes to enjoy the taste of new cheese. That is, he learns to adapt in time when he sees changing leads to something better!
Take note! Fundamental Principle! Decide what your learning experience goal is If appropriate, select a technology or application that will support it Never use technology or a cool application just to use it!
HOW CAN YOU SUPPORT EFFECTIVE LEARNING? How do you know that you‘re being effective?
