2 About John Logie Baird  John Logie Baird was born on the 13 th of August 1888 in Helensburgh and died on the 14 th of June 1946.  John wasn’t poor but he wasn’t the richest.  John was a Scottish Scientist Engineer  John nearly blew up Dalmarnock Power Station where he worked.  John went to The University of Strathclyde.

4 Facts about John Logie Baird  John Logie Baird was famous for inventing television in 1923.  He also invented medicated socks to keep peoples’ feet cool in summer and warm in the winter.  He worked in Dalmornock power station.  The T.V is still in use today but has moved on.

5 The way the television works The way television works is that variations in light from an object produce electric impulses in a photo-electric cell. These electrical impulses are magnified enormously by a valve. The impulses can be trapped by a radio but instead of going through a loud-speaker, they are fed into a cathode ray tube. There they form tiny streams of electrons that impinge on a chemically- treated screen, on which the object is reconstituted by means of glowing dots.
