Facts about John Logie Baird John Logie Baird was famous for inventing television in 1923. He also invented medicated socks to keep peoples’ feet cool in summer and warm in the winter. He worked in Dalmornock power station. The T.V is still in use today but has moved on.
The way the television works The way television works is that variations in light from an object produce electric impulses in a photo-electric cell. These electrical impulses are magnified enormously by a valve. The impulses can be trapped by a radio but instead of going through a loud-speaker, they are fed into a cathode ray tube. There they form tiny streams of electrons that impinge on a chemically- treated screen, on which the object is reconstituted by means of glowing dots.
