“There are many ways of practicing the healing art; but there is only one way that Heaven approves.” 5T 443
“There are many ways of practicing the healing art, but there is only one way that Heaven approves. God's remedies are the simple agencies of nature, that will not tax or debilitate the system through their powerful properties. Pure air and water, cleanliness, a proper diet, purity of life, and a firm trust in God, are remedies for the want of which thousands are dying; yet these remedies are going out of date because their skillful use requires work that the people do not appreciate.” 5T 443

A Few Criteria for Judging Validity of Health Practices Divine Endorsement: “To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” Isa 8:20 In Harmony with True Physical Science: All true science is in harmony with His works…Science opens new wonders to our view;… but she brings nothing from her research that conflicts with divine revelation. PP 115
A Few Criteria for Judging Validity of Health Practices Not of Pagan Origin: Do not follow after the doings of Egypt and Canaan but observe my statutes. Lev. 18:1-5 Learn not the way of the heathen. Jer. 10:2 Addresses the Cause: “In case of sickness, the cause should be ascertained, unhealthful conditions should be changed, wrong habits corrected…” MH 127 We should go to work intelligently to remove the cause. MH 235
Questions to Ask Where did the method come from, what is its source? Does it have any mystical roots? What other therapies is it associated with? What did the founder believe? What is the life story of the founder or founders? What company does this technique keep? Who uses it and what other therapies accompany its use?
What is the ultimate direction that the therapy is headed? Am I led toward Jesus or away from Him? Do I still need Him as a Savior or have I become my own Savior? Does the treatment method follow known laws of physiology? Does it teach and direct the patient to seek to know and follow God’s laws of health? Who receives the credit for healing?
To understand the rise and growth, as well as the coming out into the open, of mystical medicine in our day, we have to understand its past, and have a true understanding of its origins and author. - Noyes, MD,. M.P.H. Spiritualistic Deceptions in Health and Healing 63

Pagan Definition of Disease Disease and illness were a result of an imbalance of these energies. This energy, considered “god,” is pantheism “all is one and one is all,” thus the belief that disease is a spiritual imbalance manifesting as physical disease.
Treatment Methods in the Pagan Concept Not dependent upon the physical laws recognized in science. Looking to a special “energy” supposedly permeating the universe from which all substance is said to originated. Life is believed to repeat itself in different bodies and creatures. The goal in life is to escape from this cycle of re-incarnation, and enter into the spirit life of Nirvana
3 WORLD CENTERS OF MEDICAL INFLUENCE Island of Kos, Greece where Hippocrates lived and practiced Indus River Valley in India from where Ayurveda (ancient Indian healing tradition) came. Many forms of Mystical Medicine find their origin in Ayurveda China, Traditional Chinese Medicine
Ayurveda The foundation of all treatment of health and healing in Ayurveda medicine is the practice of meditation. The practice of Meditation is said to bring the inner self, the universal energy, the god within us to such a level that it would allow us to interact with the spirit entities and eventually enter that same spirit state. Many forms of Mystical Medicine find their origin in Ayurveda
Chinese Traditional Medicine Based on Taoism (The Way) 3 Basic Beliefs of Taoism are: 1. Man is the image of the cosmos 2. Universal energy, Ch’i (Ki, Qi) is composed of 2 parts yin and yang (dualism) 3. Five basic elements are involved in transformation in creation: metal, air, earth, fire and water.
Pa kua, Circle of Harmony
Chinese Medicine Definition of Disease All disease is perceived as being a result of disharmony in the balance of yin and yang. This imbalance can occur for many reasons, such as lifestyle. It is believed that some physical disorders are caused by “winds”. Foods are considered yin and yang and the balance of such will influence to maintain health, or imbalance to allow illness. The beliefs of what causes imbalance in the yin and yang of the body are complex.
Origin and Past of Mystical Medicine Pagan civilization continued the philosophy of the zodiac with its mystical concepts and the doctrine of “dualism,” since the dispersion from Babylon. After the 70 years of Jewish captivity in Babylon, a secret society began in Israel called the Cabala, (Kabalah, Kabbalah) which is based on dualism. Mixture of Babylonian Mysteries and Zorasteriainism (religion of the Persians)
Origin and Past of Mystical Medicine From the Cabala came the Gnostics, that sect which greatly opposed the Christian movement in the days of Paul and the Apostles. “The Cabal, is the key of the occult sciences, The Gnostics were born of the Cabalists.” –Ragon, Freemason Gnostics-heart of it is pantheism, god in everything and everything god Nowyes, MD, Spiritualistic Deceptions in Health and Healing p. 65
Origin and Past of Mystical Medicine Gnosticism connected with Freemasonry “The Gnostics derived their leading doctrines and idea from…the Kabalah and the Sacred books of India and Egypt; and thus introduced into the bosom of Christianity the cosmological an theosophical speculations, which had formed the larger portion of the ancient religions of the Orient, joined with those of the Egyptian, Greek, and Jewish doctrines, which the New-Platonists had equally adopted in the West.”- Albert Pike, Morals and Dogma of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry ibid
Origin and Past of Mystical Medicine The growth and spread of the “Mysteries” over the face of the earth can be traced from ancient Babylon to the present-day Masonic Order These doctrines were preserved among the Christian civilization over the ages within the societies of the Kabalah, Gnosticism, Manichaeism, various secret orders of the Islamic countries, Sufis, Knights Templars, Rosicrucians and Freemansonry Nowyes, MD, Spiritualistic Deceptions in Health and Healing p. 66
Origin and Past of Mystical Medicine From the time of the early church through the ages to our day, these spiritual and healing mysticisms have been kept alive in the Christian community via secrets societies with aim of promoting, in disguise, the worship of Lucifer. Healing modalities are used to attract people, progressing on to the philosophical and spiritual teachings of their theosophy (pagan religion). ibid
Origin and Past of Mystical Medicine Alice Bailey under the guidance of a spirit guide wrote 24 books which have been the foundation and guide for the New Age movement. This movement is the major promoter of “mystical medicine” in the United States and around the world. She was closely connected to the Masonic Order.
Origin and Past of Mystical Medicine “The Masonic Movement-It is the custodian of the law; it is the home of the mysteries and the seat of initiation. It holds in its symbolism the ritual deity, and the way of salvation is pictorially preserved in its works.” Alice Bailey, The Externalization of the Hierarchy
Bottom Line Treatment methods in the pagan concept for healing are not dependent upon the physical laws recognized in science. There is a looking to a special “energy” supposedly permeating the universe
Bottom Line We are lead to believe that by using certain varied treatment modalities we can activate this power that is inherent in self to bring about not only restoration of health, but the elevation of one’s consciousness to the level of godhead.
Bottom Line There is an intimate connection between the healing techniques and the doctrine of paganism
Bottom Line Luciferian Occultism controls Freemasonry Satan’s goal is to pervert Christianity with these concepts, and counterfeit healing is the right arm of his messages.
Terms for “Universal Energy” Title Origin Ch’i (KI, QI) Taoism Orenda American Indian Animal Magnetism Franz Mesmer The Innate Chiropractic Orgone Energy Wilhelm Reich Vital Energy Homeopathy The Force Star Wars
English Synonyms “Universal Intelligence” One, God Self, Higher Self, Supreme Self, Divine Self Purer Consciousness Creative Principle Essence Vital Force, Vitalism, Life Force Vibrational Force Monism Ultimate Unified Energy Field Energy Supreme Ultimate
In the Oriental view of universal energy there are seven divisions or levels of energy. This concept is accepted by the New Age Movement of today. Understanding a little of this belief of divisions or levels of universal energy, will be of value in comprehending the explanations of presumed actions of various techniques applied to health and healing. UNIVERSAL ENERGY’S SEVEN DIVISIONS
We can also get a glimpse of some of the theology of the Eastern religions, making it increasingly clear that involvement in their techniques in health and healing might unsuspectingly lead to acceptance of their religious precepts. Ibid. 75
Universal energy/life force energy is said to be of seven levels or planes in distribution and function. New Age health practioners will call this perceived energy, electromagnetic energy which is believed to have specific vibrational frequencies at various levels. At the bottom level energy has materialized and formed the cosmos, earth and man.
Seven Energy Planes Dr. Gerber, MD prominent New Age author says that the other levels of universal energy have different increasing frequencies above the speed of light. The different levels of energy have specific functions and the lower levels are spoken of as bodies or energy planes
Energy Plane Levels 1-3 Physical Body Etheric Body Astral Body Causal Body
Levels 1-3 = *Physical body * Etheric body -mystical body, energy plane with the function of being an electromagnetic template of our physical bodies, believed to be the controlling influence in the function of our physiology. When imbalance is present in the etheric body eventually the physically body will present malfunction or disease. Many healing techniques are aimed at correcting the balancing status of the etheric body
* Astral Body- mystical body, “out of body”, “light in tunnel”, “travel apart from body” experiences, Mental body deals with higher thought process * Causal Body- Functions in re-incarnation beliefs. Said to store life experiences from “past and future lives” Levels 1-3 = *Physical body *Etheric body- Electromagntic Template of physical body
Energy Levels 4-7 Super consciousness and at the top, symbolized by the lotus flower and the Jewel, immortality and eternal life also known as Divine Self. These top levels are said to interconnect with the energies of all the universe and so the expression “one and one is all.” It is this level that is also called “god.”

“The goal of neopaganism (New Age) of the West and the religions of the East is to attain the energy level of the lotus and the jewel. All religious activates are directed to this concept. Universal energy is the core belief in not only health and healing, but also the path to eternal life. To accept the healing techniques of this system of belief, is to accept the theology of paganism.” ibid. 77
“ A point of interest is the belief that plants contain these same higher levels of energy and by consuming plants for our diet; we can obtain from them higher levels of consciousness. This is one of the reasons vegetarianism is common within neopaganism” (New Age) ibid.76
PANTHEIST’S EXPLANATION FOR CAUSE OF DISEASE Illness is the result of imbalance or blockage of the presence of, and flow through the body, of universal energy. Therapies are designed to balance, unblock, restore, infuse or otherwise manipulate invisible energies which allegedly exist or circulate within the human body.
True Definition of Disease Disease is an effort of nature to free the system from conditions that result from a violation of the laws of health. In case of sickness, the cause should be ascertained. Unhealthful conditions should be changed, wrong habits corrected. Then nature is to be assisted in her effort to expel impurities and to re-establish right conditions in the system. MH 127
“The healing process involves only the following known factors: blood and lymph vessels, nerve stimuli, leukocytes, connective tissue, plasma proteins, biochemical mechanisms, and immune properties of living cells.
Therefore, it has become progressively more clear that it is only those remedies that assist, stimulate, remove impediments, and direct nature in her efforts to throw off an offending agent and utilize the defense mechanisms of the body that can be classed as true remedies.” Home Remedies p. VI
CHRISTIAN BELIEF OF UNIVERSAL ENERGY “God is a spirit; yet He is a personal being, for man was made in His image. As a personal being, God has revealed Himself in His Son. Jesus, the outshining of the Father’s glory, ‘and the express image of His person, was on earth found in fashion as a man…” ED 131, 132
The Pagan, Luciferian roots of Mystical Medicine, are counterfeits of Satan Foundational teaching of pantheism’s explanation of our origin Dualism, blending 2 opposing parts of an imaginary universal energy Different names given to this energy The concept that illness and disease result from the imbalance of the 2 parts (yin-yang) of energy in our system Treatment of disease in Satan’s system is an act of attempting to rebalance the energy
But What if it Works? “And while those who are devoted to these sciences, laud them to the heavens because of the great and good works which they affirm are wrought by them, they little know what a power for evil they are cherishing.... Mark the influence of these sciences, dear reader; for the conflict between Christ and Satan is not yet ended....” FLB 320
“I was directed to this scripture as especially applying to modern spiritualism: Colossians 2:8: "Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ." Thousands, I was shown, have been spoiled through the philosophy of phrenology and animal magnetism, and have been driven into infidelity. If the mind commences to run in this channel, it is almost sure to lose its balance and be controlled by a demon.” 1T 297
Ayurvedic Medicine is an ancient system of counterfeit health care that is native to the Indian subcontinent. Defined as "knowledge of a long life”. (All things in the universe, both living and nonliving, are joined together. Disease arises when a person is out of harmony with the universe.) It is stated to be a divine revelation of the ancient Indian creator God Lord Brahma as he awoke to recreate the universe. Many forms of Mystical Medicine find their origin in Ayurveda
Acupuncture The ancient Chinese practice of sticking needles into the body to influence the flow of “vital energy” (called Qi, Ch’i). It has changed little over several thousand years except the number of acupuncture points has grown from 365 to over 2,000.
“It is based on the belief that health is determined by balanced flow of qi, the vital life energy present in all living organisms. According to acupuncture theory, qi circulates in the body along TWELVE major energy pathways, called meridians, each linked to specific organs and organs systems. …there are over 1000 acupoints within the meridian system that can be stimulated to enhance the flow of qi. When special needles are inserted into these acupoints… they help to correct and rebalance the flow of energy and consequently relieve pain and/or restore health.” Alternative Medicine p. 37
Meridian Lines Invisible channels through which qi (vital energy) circulates throughout the body There are 12 main meridians, six of which are yin and six are yang and numerous minor ones, which form a network of energy channels throughout the body
Acupuncture in China The Chinese themselves have rejected acupuncture as worthless several times in their long history, only to see it resurrected. In the early 1970s, chairman Mao, unable to provide rational health care to hundreds of millions of Chinese with only 30 to 40 thousand doctors, had reversed a Chinese policy and declared acupuncture and other ancient practices to be valid. Suddenly by acknowledging its “barefoot doctors,” China had no doctor shortage and its doctor population ratio was equal to the West. Consumer's Guide to Alternative Medicine, p. 95
Acupressure* Not to be confused with Trigger Point Therapy Acupressure applies pressure, instead of needles as in Acupuncture. Both of these methods treat along Meridian Lines (which are defined as channels of living magnetic energy in the body). This is a mystical concept.
Do Not Confuse the Terms: “Pressure Point” = Meridian Lines “Trigger Point” = Anatomical Position
Reiki Practitioners claim harness and transmit "universal life energy" by placing their hands in specific positions on or near the body; or they can visualize special symbols that supposedly enable them to send "healing energy," even from far away.
Energy Therapy* Their aim is to balance the body’s energy and enhance the body’s own healing response. Based on century old practices. Energy therapies usually focus on energy fields thought to exist in and around the body (biofields). All energy therapies are based on the belief that a universal life force or subtle energy resides in and around the body. Therapeutic touch, often referred to as laying on of hands, uses the therapist's healing energy to identify and repair imbalances in a patient's biofield.
Therapeutic Touch* Practitioners claim to detect and correct "energy imbalances" by moving their hands above the patient's body. Healing supposedly results from transfer of "excess energy" from healer to patient. Neither the forces involved nor the alleged therapeutic benefits have been demonstrated by scientific testing.
Yoga Yoga comes from the Sanskrit root word "yuj", to join, to have union, and to "yolk" together. Yoga is the yolking together of the universal conscious Self with the individual Self. The steady, unwavering path to the Divine using disciplined meditation. It's fundamental to the Hindu belief and culture. The goal of the yogi was to ascend into the immortal realms of pure spirit, to imbibe the intuitional nectar of enlightenment, irradicate disease and find liberation from suffering. The goals of yoga are varied and range from improving health to achieving Moksha. (Relief from death)
Biorhythyms A biorhythm is a hypothetical cycle in physiological, emotional, or intellectual well- being. "Bio" pertains to life and “rhythm" pertains to the flow with regular movement. Biorhythms theory has no more predictive power than chance, and has been labeled a pseudoscience.hypothetical pseudoscience Not to be confused with “Circadian”
To Calculate An electronic calculator capable of determining biorhythm which comprises means for calculating a number of days of existence from birth and a specified date; means for computing a number of residual days by dividing the calculated number of days of existence by the cyclic periods or 23 days, 28 days and 33 days of three factors of biorhythm, that is, the physique, sensitivity and intellect respectively; and means for indicating said residual days as biorhythmic indices on a specified date. YOU FIGURE IT OUT….
Biorhythms is not based upon the scientific study of biological organisms. The cycles of biorhythm theory did not originate in scientific study, nor have they been supported by anything resembling a scientific study. Not to be confused with “Circadian”
Reflexology (Zone Therapy) Pressure is applied on areas of the hands and feet that “corresponds to the body's internal organs.” Reflexologists claim their treatments help prevent ulcers, treat migraines, viral infections, improve circulation, reasoning and productivity and cleanse the body of toxins etc. etc. etc. Their claims have never been scientifically proven.
Reflexology “ Alternative names for Reflexology include reflex zone therapy and zone therapy…. Modern reflexology stems mainly from the work early in the 20th century of two Americans, Dr. William Fitzgerald and Eunice Ingham. It was Fitzgerald who first proposed the theory that the body is divided into ten equal zones that extend the length of the body from head to toe, and that stimulation of an area of the foot in one zone affects other parts of the body in the same zone.
Reflexology This work was continued by Eunice Ingham, who developed a “body-chart” which, she claimed, showed how the entire body was reflected in the soles and sides of both feet.” The Complete Family Guide to Alternative Medicine p.52
“ Reflexology is a close cousin to acupuncture. Even though seen as a more acceptable “Western variety” of the energy- balancing technique, its roots are deeply planted in the soil of spiritism. In fact the same meridian lines of acupuncture apply to reflexology. …The Christian should be able to easily identify this technique as being dangerous because its association with ‘energy balancing,’ for the Scriptures plainly tell us to avoid divination.” Mystical Medicine p. 33, 34 Warren Peters M.D.
Iridology According to iridologists, the iris of the eye represents a kind of map of the human glands, organs and systems of the whole body. Problems show up on the iris as spots, flecks, white or dark streaks and so on. Texture and color indicate the person’s general state of health. The Complete Family Guide to Alternative Medicine p.22
Iridology This is a false science in which patterns, colors, and other characteristics of the iris can be examined to determine information about a patient's systemic health. Practitioners match their observations to iris charts which divide the iris into zones which they correspond to specific parts of the human body. Iridologists see the eyes as "windows" into the body's state of health.
Iridology was developed in the 19th century by the hungarian Dr. Ignatiz von Peckzely, who as a boy noticed changes in the eye of an owl with a broken leg as the owl made its recovery. He published his theories in 1881, and soon after a Swedish doctor, Nils Lilinquist, added his own observations. But iridology did not become widely popular until Dr. Bernard Jensen pioneered its use in the U.S.” The Complete Family Guide to Alternative Medicine p.22
Babylon Roots of Iridology Iridology definitely has occult roots. ‘Stone slabs have been found in Asia Minor depicting the iris and its relationship to the rest of the body. The Chaldeans of Babylon, who carved the slabs, were known as soothsayers.’ We may think the originators of iridology were men like Ignatz von Peczely, who published his findings in 1881 or Pastor Felks who lived during the same period of time, but in reality, this system of divination is very ancient.” Mystical Medicine p. 43, 44 Warren Peters M.D.
The iris texture remains unchanged after birth. Pigmentation changes the first year of life, and then stays constant. Iridology makes no anatomic or physiologic sense. It is not merely worthless. Incorrect diagnoses can unnecessarily frighten people, cause them to waste money seeking medical care for nonexistent conditions, or steer them away from necessary medical care when a real problem is overlooked. Diagnosis's made are no more accurate than CHANCE The Truth
Reiki* Practitioners claim harness and transmit "universal life energy" by placing their hands in specific positions on or near the body; or they can visualize special symbols that supposedly enable them to send "healing energy," even from far away.
Bowen Massage* The Bowen technique consists of a series of specific light moves across tendons, muscles and fascia throughout the body. The therapist uses thumbs and fingers to make the moves and applies very light pressure Bowen massage therapy resets your body to heal itself by using gentle Bowen moves. This therapy comprises of a series of precise and elegant moves that stimulate the energy flow. The therapist leaves the room in order to allow the body to make use of the information given to it, and for the generated energy to flow.
In 1963 George Goodheart, a chiropractor, combined his study of “acupuncture, massage, acupressure, yoga, and polarity therapy” to reinvent kinesiology. The Basic theory revolves around the “Chi” life force. It is used as a diagnostic tool to locate “imbalance” in energy fields.
“This works on the theory that foods or chemicals to which an individual is sensitive cause muscle weakening as a result of changing the body’s electrical field. Practitioners place suspect substances in the hand or under the tongue and then check for muscle weakening.” The Complete Family Guide to Alternative Medicine p.99
Evangelical Healing Through satanic delusions, wonderful miracles, the claims of human agents will be urged. Beware of all this. 2SM 49 Men under the influence of evil spirits will work miracles. They will make people sick by casting their spell upon them, and will then remove the spell, leading others to say that those who were sick have been miraculously healed. This Satan has done again and again. SM 53.2
Protein Drinks and Amino Acid Amino acids are the building blocks of protein. Protein and amino acids are so abundant in the foods we eat that very few people in the United States are deficient. If anything, we consume too much protein. Sufficient protein is obtained in the foods we eat. Too much is harmful to the kidneys and heart.
Astrology The theory and practice of the positions and aspects of celestial bodies in the belief that they have an influence on the course of natural earthly occurrences and human affairs.
Blood Type - Personality Type The blood type theory of personality is a popular belief in Japan that a person's ABO blood type or ketsueki-gata is predictive of their personality, temperament, and compatibility with others, similar to the Western world's astrology. “Believers” make food choices based on their blood type.
Christian Science The teaching that God and God's creation are entirely good and spiritual, and that God has made all things in His likeness. Christian Scientists hold that the reality of being and of all existence is spiritual, not material. Founder Mary Baker Eddy, a false prophetess at the time of EG White.
Chelation Therapy is the administration of chelating agents to remove heavy metals from the body. Some alternative practitioners use chelation to treat hardening of the arteries. In 2001, researchers at the University of Calgary reported that cardiac patients receiving chelation therapy fared no better than those who received placebo treatment.
What Do They Chelate With? A chelate is a chemical compound composed of a metal ion and a chelating agent. A chelating agent is a substance whose molecules can form several bonds to a single metal ion. In other words, a chelating agent is a multidentate ligand. An example of a simple chelating agent is ethylenediamine.
Chiropractic is the most significant nonscientific health- care delivery system in the United States. A minority of chiropractors offer rational treatment.
"Chiropractic" literally means "done by hand" (chiros = hand; praktos practice), referring to manipulation of the spine. Some employ manipulation as a panacea (cure all). Spinal manipulation can be useful, but chiropractic's theoretical basis rests largely on a strange and never- demonstrated notion of "subluxations."
A subluxation is a complex of functional and/or structural and or pathological articular changes that compromise neural integrity and may influence organ system and general health.
Neither Palmer (the founder) nor any other chiropractor has ever been able to reliably demonstrate the existence of "subluxations," much less validate their importance to health and disease. Nevertheless, chiropractic has thrived and now has about 60,000 practitioners in the United States.
Daniel David Palmer, the founder, was a layman with an intense interest in metaphysical health philosophies such as magnetic healing (Mesmer's "animal magnetism"), phrenology, and spiritualism. Obsessed with uncovering "the primary cause of disease," Palmer theorized that "95 percent of all disease" was caused by spinal "subluxations" (partial dislocations) and the rest by "luxated bones elsewhere in the body."
Palmer speculated that subluxations impinged upon spinal nerves, impeding their function, and that this led to disease. He taught that medical diagnosis was unnecessary, that one need only correct the subluxations to liberate the body's own natural healing forces. He disdained physicians for treating only symptoms, alleging that, in contrast, his system corrected the cause of disease.
Palmer did not employ the term subluxation in its medical sense, but with a metaphysical, pantheistic meaning. He believed that the subluxations interfered with the body's expression, of the "Universal Intelligence" (God), which Palmer dubbed the "Innate Intelligence." (soul, spirit, or spark of life). Palmer's notion of having discovered a way to manipulate metaphysical life force is sometimes referred to as his "biotheology."
Medical doctors only refer to "significant structural displacements" as subluxations, whereas chiropractors suggest that a dysfunctional segment, whether displaced significantly or not, should be referred to as a subluxation. The chiropractic vertebral subluxation complex has been a source of controversy since its inception in 1895 due to its metaphysical origins and claims of far reaching effects on health and disease.
There is sufficient evidence that manipulation can at least temporarily improve the range of motion of impaired joints and relieve pain -- sometimes dramatically -- to make it a worthwhile, although limited, medical procedure. Manipulation requires a good deal of individual skill, which many chiropractors possess.
Colonics Can be expensive Considerable potential for harm The process can be very uncomfortable Infection from equipment improperly cleaned Disturbance of healthy normal bacteria flora
Heart failure (from excessive fluid absorption into the bloodstream) Electrolyte imbalance No license or training is required to operate a colonic-irrigation device. The FDA classifies colonic irrigation systems as Class III devices that cannot be legally marketed except for medically indicated colon cleansing (such as before a radiologic endoscopic examination).
The falsity of this treatment is obvious to doctors who perform intestinal surgery or peer within the large intestine with a diagnostic instrument. Fecal material does not adhere to the intestinal lining. It is therapeutically worthless
Anatomically the body cleansing (detox program) is unnecessary since the body is a very good at maintaining itself, with several organs dedicated to cleansing the blood and intestines. God gave us livers, kidneys, lungs, and skin which very efficiently remove waste products from our system
Detox-System Cleanse* Long Fastings Colonics Herbal Laxatives Fiber Drinks Expensive Herbs Expensive Supplements A short fast is beneficial Drink plenty of water (with lemon in the morning) Use ¼ c ground flax seed Red Clover teas is a blood purifier Eat simple whole plant foods (or eat only fruit for a day or two) Get daily exercise, sun, fresh air, and proper rest Option A Option B
Ionized Foot Bath You place your feet into the ionizer, which a bit of salt has been added. A small electric current is passed between two electrodes immersed in the water, which soon becomes quite discolored. The color, of course, comes from electrolytic corrosion of the metal electrodes. These are usually made of iron, nickel, and copper, all of which decompose into colored ions. These colors will vary with the amount of salt present and the pH of the solution, and they can be changed and greatly intensified by the substances that either added to the bath before use, or are present in the "soaps" often used to prepare the patient's feet. Seeing is NOT Believing
Dooped I know of someone who purchased one of these units for $2000. He started up the unit without any feet in it. It turned the same disgusting color. He called the company and wanted his money back. They refused.
Ionized Water "Ionized water" is nothing more than sales fiction; the term is meaningless to chemists. Pure water can never be alkaline or acidic, nor can it be made so by electrolysis. Alkaline water must contain metallic ions of some kind — most commonly, sodium, calcium or magnesium. The idea that one must consume alkaline water to neutralize the effects of acidic foods is ridiculous; we get rid of excess acid by exhaling carbon dioxide.
If you do drink alkaline water, its alkalinity is quickly removed by the highly acidic gastric fluid in the stomach.gastric fluid Uptake of water occurs mainly in the intestine, not in the stomach. But when stomach contents enter the intestine, they are neutralized and made alkaline by the pancreatic secretions — so all the water you drink eventually becomes alkaline anyway. The claims about the health benefits of drinking alkaline water are not supported by credible scientific evidence.
There is nothing wrong with drinking slightly acidic waters such as rainwater. "Body pH" is a meaningless concept; different parts of the body (and even of individual cells) can have widely different pH values. The pH of drinking water has zero effect on that of the blood or of the body's cells. If you really want to de-acidify your stomach (at the possible cost of interfering with protein digestion), why spend hundreds of dollars for an electrolysis device when you can take calcium-magnesium pills, Alka-Seltzer or Milk of Magnesia?protein digestionAlka-SeltzerMilk of Magnesia
Electrolysis devices are generally worthless for treating water for health enhancement, removal of common impurities, disinfection, and scale control. Claims that "ionized" waters are antioxidants are untrue; hypochlorites (present in most such waters) are in fact oxidizing agents.
Ionized Water - Fiction "Ionized water" machines actually bring about the electrolysis of ordinary water.
Ionized Water - Fact If the water is pure enough to be potable, the amount of electrolysis that actually occurs is too small to be significant.
Ionized Water - Fiction These devices separate the alkaline water (produced at the negative electrode) from the acidic water (produced at the positive electrode), allowing you to draw them off separately.
Ionized Water - Fact This will not work with pure water because it is physically impossible to have water that contains an excess of OH – (alkaline) without the presence of a charge-compensating metallic ion such as Na + or Ca 2+. Similarly, any water that is acidic (excess H + ion) must contain a compensating impurity ion such as bicarbonate or sulfate. Thus ordinary drinkable water which contains only very low concentrations of metal ions will yield only weakly alkaline solutions.
Ionized Water - Fiction Alkaline water is important for maintaining proper body pH and preventing acidosis.
Ionized Water - Fact The pH of intracellular bodily fluids such as blood is controlled by an exquisitely- balanced set of reactions involving removal of (acidic) carbon dioxide through the lungs, removal of (alkaline) ammonia through the kidneys, and the buffering action within the blood by bicarbonate. The pH of blood is especially critical and must be maintained within the range of about If the blood pH falls outside this range the condition is known as acidosis or alkylosis. The pH of ordinary drinking water will have little effect on the pH of the stomach contents because gastric fluid has an overwhelmingly low pH (Gastric fluid is essentially a dilute solution of hydrochloric acid.)
Ionized Water - Fiction The oxygen produced during electrolysis invigorates the body.
Ionized Water - Fact The amount of oxygen that water can hold is very limited, and it is not significantly absorbed by the gut anyway. You can acquire far more oxygen by just taking an extra breath.
Ionized Water - Fiction "Ionized water" acts as an effective antioxidant and free- radical fighter, and can even halt or reverse ageing.
Ionized Water - Fact There is ignorance of chemistry by stating that the enhanced oxygen content causes the water to act as an anti-oxidant (any high-school chemistry student should be able to debunk this one!) It should also be pointed out that our bodies have anti- oxidant enzymes such as peroxidase that are millions of times more efficient than anything that an electrolysis device could produce even if it did work!

Hair Analysis Hair analysis is a test in which a sample of a person's hair—typically from the back of the neck—is sent to a laboratory for measurement of its mineral content. It has limited value as a screening device for heavy metal exposure, it is not reliable for evaluating the nutritional status No data that indicates that low concentrations of an element signify low tissue levels nor that high concentrations reflect high tissue stores.
Normal ranges of hair minerals have not been defined Mineral content varies with color, diameter and rate of growth of an individual's hair, the season of the year, the geographic location, and the age and gender of the individual. It is possible for hair concentration of an element (zinc, for example) to be high even though deficiency exists in the body Hair analysis is worthless for assessing the body's nutritional status or serving as a basis for dietary or supplement recommendations. Should you encounter a practitioner who claims otherwise, run for the nearest exit!
Homeopathy A system developed in the late 1700s. It's basic principle is Similia Similibus Curentur (like cures like). Made by taking a substance, and diluting it over and over again. Kurt Butler. A Consumer's Guide to Alternative Medicine, pg. 130
Homeopathy “The remedy is supposed to become more potent with each dilution. For maximum potency, dilution continues even after it is mathematically impossible that a single atom of the original substance remains, and the remedy continues to get more potent! The substance (that is no longer present) affects the person through ‘vibrations’ (or energy) it has left behind.” This cosmic energy is obtained by a special banging of the containers of potion. Kurt Butler. A Consumer's Guide to Alternative Medicine, pg. 133
Homeopathy “ The word homeopathy comes from the Greek word homios meaning “like”and pathos meaning “suffering”. The word homeopathy simply means like with like. This means that a substance that causes symptoms of illness in a well person can also be used to cure similar symptoms when they result from illness. Homeopathy as we know it was founded by a German doctor and chemist named Samuel Hahnemann ( ).
Homeopathy “…For several days he took low doses of quinine and noted his reactions to it. One by one he developed the symptoms of malaria even though he did not have the disease… He believed it was quinine’s ability to cause the symptoms of malaria that made it such an effective treatment for the disease.” The Complete Family Guide to Alternative Medicine p.82
Homeopathy “The remedy is supposed to become more potent with each dilution. For maximum potency, dilution continues even after it is mathematically impossible that a single atom of the original substance remains, and the remedy continues to get more potent! The arsenic, chamomile, or calcium carbonate that is no longer present affects the person through ‘vibrations’ (or energy) it has left behind.”This cosmic energy is obtained by a special banging of the containers of potion. Kurt Butler. A Consumer's Guide to Alternative Medicine, pg. 133
Inspiration Speaks on Homeopathic Cures “In their practice, the physicians should seek more and more to lessen the use of drugs instead of increasing it. When Dr. A came to the Health Retreat, she laid aside her knowledge and practice of hygiene, and administered the little homeopathic doses for almost every ailment. This was against the light God had given. Thus our people, who had been taught to avoid drugs in almost every form, were receiving a different education. I was obliged to tell her that this practice of depending upon medicine, whether in large or small doses, was not in accordance with the principles of health reform.” 2SM 282
Do not confuse Homeopathy with the use of Herbs.
Hypnotism* Hypnotism is used to induce an altered state of consciousness in the subject, where suggestions can be made directly to that person's unconscious mind. It may involve a combination of relaxation, visualization and repetition exercises, as well as a number of other techniques.
“Men and women are not to study the science of how to take captive the minds of those who associate with them. This is the science that Satan teaches. We are to resist everything of the kind. We are not to tamper with mesmerism and hypnotism --the science of the one who lost his first estate and was cast out of the heavenly courts.” 2MCP 713
Magnetism “Satanic agents claim to cure disease. They attribute their power to electricity, magnetism, or the so-called sympathetic remedies, while in truth they are but channels for Satan's electric currents. By this means he casts his spell over the bodies and souls of men.” ST, Mar 24, 1887
There is no scientific basis to conclude that small, static magnets can relieve pain or influence the course of any disease. In fact, many of today's products produce no significant magnetic field at or beneath the skin's surface.
Manatech* It is a multi-level marketing system, their object is to make money The products have no nutritional value Ambrotose is composed of indigestible fiber, aloe, and a simple sugar Makes false claims: Dr Blobell won a Nobel Prize in 1999 “For the discovery that proteins have intrinsic signals that govern their transport and localization in the cell” This is unrelated to Manatech products.
ABC Report June 2007 Glycobiology is a legitimate science that looks into how complex carbohydrates promote cellular communication. But two of its leading scientists, Dr. Hudson Freeze from the Burnham Institute for Medical Research in La Jolla, Calif., and Dr. Ronald Schnaar from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, say “there is a huge disconnect between this new science and what Mannatech sells.”
ABC Report According to Mannatech, many people's bodies don't produce enough of the simple sugars needed for cells to communicate properly. By ingesting Ambrotose, Mannatech claims, people get the sugars they need. But Schnaar says that except for a mere handful of people with a congenital deficit, virtually every person on earth produces enough of these sugars on his/her own. "All of the sugar building blocks that we need in our body are made from the most common foods we eat," he says.
ABC Report "There are authentic, scientific studies that have looked at people drinking these kinds of materials," said Freeze, referring to glyconutrients. "And it doesn't really do anything except increase flatulence."
People need to be taught that drugs do not cure disease. It is true that they sometimes afford present relief, and the patient appears to recover as the result of their use; this is because nature has sufficient vital force to expel the poison and to correct the conditions that caused the disease. Health is recovered in spite of the drug. But in most cases the drug only changes the form and location of the disease. Often the effect of the poison seems to be overcome for a time, but the results remain in the system and work great harm at some later period. MH 126
A medical report in 1998 estimated that adverse reactions to prescription drugs are killing about 106,000 Americans each year -- roughly three times as many as are killed by automobiles. This makes prescription drugs the fourth leading killer in the U.S., after heart disease, cancer, and stroke.
“Drugs always have a tendency to break down and destroy vital forces, and nature becomes so crippled in her efforts that the invalid dies, not because he needed to die, but because nature was outraged. If she had been left alone, she would have put forth her highest efforts to save life and health. Nature wants none of such help as so many claim that they have given her... The use of drugs is not favorable or natural to the laws of life and health. The drug medication gives nature two burdens to bear, in the place of one. She has two serious difficulties to overcome, in the place of one.” MM 223
“The less there is of drug dosing, the more favorable will be their recovery to health. Drugs, in the place of helping nature, are constantly paralyzing her efforts.” MM 224 “Drug medication, as it is generally practiced, is a curse. Educate away from drugs. Use them less and less, and depend more upon hygienic agencies; then nature will respond to God's physicians--pure air, pure water, proper exercise, a clear conscience... Drugs need SELDOM be used.” CH 261
Experimenting in drugs is a very expensive business. Paralysis of the brain and tongue is often the result, and the victims die an unnatural death, when, if they had been treated perseveringly, with unwearied, unrelaxed diligence with hot and cold water, hot compresses, packs, and dripping sheet, they would be alive today. MM 228
…for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived. Rev 18:23 Sorceries (5331) pharmakeia (far-mak-i'-ah); from NT:5332; medication ("pharmacy"), i.e. (by extension) magic (literally or figuratively): But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Vitamins and Supplements Vitamin supplements are not a panacea for good health. * Panacea- Solutions for all problems
Vitamin Supplements and Your Life Span The National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion researcher’s found after using an extensive database from the First National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (performed from 1971 to 1975), and assessing the death rate of participants through 1987 concluded:
Study: Vitamin and mineral supplement use and mortality in a US cohort* National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion I Kim, D F Williamson, T Byers, and J P Koplan “We found no evidence of increased longevity among vitamin and mineral supplement users in the United States. Considering the wide use of supplements in the general population, the cost- effectiveness and the safety of supplement use need to be better defined.” (Am J Public Health April; 83(4): 546–550. ) * Cohort-a group of individuals with some characteristics in common
“Supplements will not lead to long- lasting health and may cause unforeseen side effects. Furthermore, for those relying on supplements, beneficial and sustained diet change is postponed. The dangers of a Western diet cannot be overcome by consuming nutrient pills.” (Dr. Campbell, The China Study, p. 228)
Vitamin SupplementCausesLong Term Effect Niacin Heart rhythm problems Peptic ulcer disease Liver disease Gout Worsening of Diabetes Diarrhea Foclic Acid Pernicious AnemiaMasks B12 deficiency Vitamin B6 Nerve Problems Parkinson’s Kidney Problems Potentially irreversible neuropathy Vitamin C Diarrhea Vitamin dependence Kidney stone formation Vitamin C deficiency If supplement is decreased * Taken from Dr. Neidley, Proof Positive p. 488
Too Much of A Good Thing Can Be Harmful “Surprisingly, you can cause a vitamin or mineral deficiency by taking large doses of supplements…There are a number of ways in which vitamins and minerals are transported and utilized by the body. Taking excessive amounts of one vitamin or mineral results in an unbalancing of the uptake and utilization of other vitamins and minerals.” (Dr. Nedley, Proof Positive. p. 489)
Vitamin - Mineral Interactions
“Interactions of other substances may cause a decrease in the absorption of a substance. Many people are unaware of these potentially harmful interactions. The message is that no one should take large doses of supplements without careful consideration.” (ibid. p. 490) Vitamin - Mineral Interactions There are 11 separate interactions shown in this figure.
Vitamin Interactions 27 Possible Interactions
Interactions Between Essential Minerals and Trace Elements
Atkins Diet* Problems with the Atkins Diet: Hi fat and protein produces ketosis Ketosis causes calcium loss (bone and teeth) Rise in cholesterol Increase risk of heart disease Increase risk of cancer Kidney problems
Lose large amounts of water Lose appetite Eat fewer servings of grains, vegetables, and fruits than recommended by the U.S. Dietary Guidelines Insufficient fiber in diet Advise to take supplements Studies show weight loss was short term
Ear Candling* Claimed to assist the natural clearing of earwax from a person's ear by lighting one end of a hollow candle and placing the other end in the ear canal. According to medical researchers, it is both dangerous and ineffective
My Experience I brought an ear candle home from massage school, put it in an empty glass, and lit the candle. I let it burn down to the normal place, blew out the fire and opened the candle. Inside was the nastiest looking “ear wax”. Conclusion: the fire and smoke melted the candle inside forming the appearance of ear wax. Seeing is Not Believing
The results vary with the position that the candle is put in the ear, allowing much or little airflow through the candle, and how far the practitioner allows it to burn down. By the way, when I was receiving my “treatment” at school, hot wax dripped into my ear canal and BURNED ME !
Liver Flush Said to get rid of gallstones. In the usual “flush,” half a cup or more of a vegetable oil is consumed together with citrus juice and Epsom salts usually after a brief fast. Many green, brown, yellow or black blobs of various sizes may later appear in the bowel movements
False True They tend to dissolve into an oily smudge in time. They have an irregular globular shape. They are usually described as soft and waxy or “gelatinous”. Gallstones are stable. Sharply facetted appearance Very hard and difficult to crack. Softer gallstones always have a fine, crumbly, dry texture.
False True Easily cut through May be bright green and posses a translucency They can be produced in amounts far beyond the capacity of either the gallbladder or the entire biliary system, as long as flushes are continued and regardless of whether the user still has a gallbladder Difficult to cut cleanly with a knife Never have this appearance No gallbladder, no stones Seeing is Not Believing
A Testimony To test the validity of these gallbladder flushes, 2 friends and I decided to go through it. We all were healthy, in our 20’s, 30’s and 40’s. After a 3 day juice fast, we took the potion of olive oil and lemon. Sure enough, out came the “gall stones”. We sent them to the lab to be checked. The results? Not gall stones at all. Just oil and bile. Now I am a believer, this whole procedure is a HOAX !
Salt Water Flush People drink quickly a quart or more of salty water (2 tsp) Several bowel movements are to follow
Problems Retention of salt leading to fluid retention, which can be very dangerous for people with heart disease, high blood pressure, and kidney disease The diarrhea you experience as a result of a salt water flush isn't evidence of your body's attempt to rid itself of parasites, pollutants and toxic buildup. Your body is simply trying to purge itself of excess sodium as quickly as possible. It is harsh It is unnecessary
Colloidal Silver is a suspension of submicroscopic metallic silver particles in a colloidal base. Colloidal Silver is Banned in Europe! It can no longer be sold as a dietary or nutritional supplement in health food stores Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has to say about colloidal silver: “The commercial claims for consuming liquid, colloidal, ionised products appear to be without scientific basis.”
"There are no current legitimate uses of colloidal silver … there is little evidence to support therapeutic claims made for colloidal silver products… the risk to consumers of silver toxicity outweighs the value of trying an unsubstantiated treatment, and bacterial resistance to silver can occur; and efforts should be made to curb the illegal availability of colloidal silver products, which is a significant public health issue."
In August 1999, the US Food and Drug Administration banned colloidal silver sellers from claiming any therapeutic value for the product, noting that such products were being marketed for numerous diseases without evidence of effectiveness The FDA also banned over the counter sale drug products containing colloidal silver due to the lack of safety or efficacy data.
“It is our privilege to use every God-appointed means in correspondence with our faith, and then trust in God, when we have urged the promise. If there is need of a surgical operation, and the physician is willing to undertake the case, it is not a denial of faith to have the operation performed. After the patient has committed his will to the will of God, let him trust, drawing nigh to the Great Physician, the Mighty Healer, and giving himself up in perfect trust.” 2SM 284 Surgery Not a Denial of Faith
Devils Work Miracles “And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world…” Revelation 16:13,14
And miracles were wrought, to deceive, if possible, the very elect. LUH, February 7, 1912

Inspiration Speaks on the Use of Drugs Naturopathy vs. Allopathy
“You know that Satan will come in to deceive if possible the very elect. He claims to be Christ, and he is coming in, pretending to be THE GREAT MEDICAL MISSIONARY. He will cause fire to come down from heaven in the sight of men to prove that he is God. We must stand barricaded by the truths of the Bible. The canopy of truth is the only canopy under which we can stand safely.” MM 87,88
There are many ways of practicing the healing art, but there is only one way that Heaven approves. God's remedies are the simple agencies of nature, that will not tax or debilitate the system through their powerful properties. Pure air and water, cleanliness, a proper diet, purity of life, and a firm trust in God, are remedies for the want of which thousands are dying, yet these remedies are going out of date because their skillful use requires work that the people do not appreciate. Fresh air, exercise, pure water, and clean, sweet premises, are within the reach of all with but little expense; but drugs are expensive, both in the outlay of means and the effect produced upon the system. CH 323
Pure air, sunlight, abstemiousness, rest, exercise, proper diet, the use of water, trust in divine power--these are the true remedies. Every person should have a knowledge of nature's remedial agencies and how to apply them. MH 127
"Our bodies are Christ's purchased possession, and we are not at liberty to do with them as we please. All who understand the laws of health should realize their obligation to obey these laws, which God has established in their being. Obedience to the laws of health is to be made a matter of personal duty. We ourselves must suffer the results of violated law. We must individually answer to God for our habits and practices.” CD368
"Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.“ Colossians 2:8

Crystal Healing A crystal is a mineral that is nearly transparent and colorless or has a slight color. Practitioners of crystal healing believe that crystals, particularly quartz crystals such as amethyst or clear quartz, contain energy that enhances healing of both body and mind. They believe that crystals can be "charged" with this healing energy, in a manner similar to the charging of a flashlight battery. The charged crystal can then be used to alter the energy patterns in the person receiving treatment.
Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) is a very pale blue liquid which appears colorless in a dilute solution, slightly more viscous than water. It is a weak acid. It has strong oxidizing properties and is therefore a powerful bleaching agent.
If ingested, dilutions of hydrogen peroxide up to 9% are generally nontoxic; however, even a 3% solution is mildly irritating to mucosal tissue and may cause vomiting and diarrhea. Ingestion of industrial strength solutions has been associated with fatalities.
Good Uses for H2O2 1. Mouth rinse, gargle, whitens teeth 2. Soak your toothbrush 3. Clean your counters, table tops, and cutting board 4. Treat fungus on feet 5. Soak any infections or cuts in 3% peroxide for five to ten minutes several times a day 6. Fill a spray bottle with a 50/50 mixture of peroxide and water and keep it in every bathroom to disinfect without harming your septic system
7. Spray into nostrils with your 50/50 mixture whenever you have a cold, or plugged sinuses. It will bubble and help to kill the bacteria, then blow your nose into a tissue 8. Put half a bottle of peroxide in your bath to help rid boils, fungus, or other skin infections 9. Add a cup of peroxide instead of bleach to a load of whites in your laundry to whiten 10. Remove blood on clothing (Caution: it may bleach the material) 11. Clean mirrors
Harmful Uses of H2O2 Don’t Ingest It Don’t Shoot It In Your Veins
Hair samples from two healthy teenagers were sent under assumed names to 13 commercial laboratories performing multimineral hair analysis. The reported levels of most minerals varied considerably between identical samples sent to the same laboratory and from laboratory to laboratory. The laboratories also disagreed about what was "normal" or "usual" for many of the minerals. Most reports contained computerized interpretations that were voluminous, bizarre, and potentially frightening to patients. Six laboratories recommended food supplements, but the types and amounts varied widely from report to report and from laboratory to laboratory. Literature from most of the laboratories suggested that their reports were useful in managing a wide variety of diseases and supposed nutrient imbalances. However, commercial use of hair analysis in this manner is unscientific, economically wasteful, and probably illegal.
The only hope of better things is in the education of the people in right principles. Let physicians teach the people that restorative power is not in drugs, but in nature. Disease is an effort of nature to free the system from conditions that result from a violation of the laws of health. In case of sickness, the cause should be ascertained. Unhealthful conditions should be changed, wrong habits corrected. Then nature is to be assisted in her effort to expel impurities and to re-establish right conditions in the system. MH 127
When the abuse of health is carried so far that sickness results, the sufferer can often do for himself what no one else can do for him. The first thing to be done is to ascertain the true character of the sickness and then go to work intelligently to remove the cause. If the harmonious working of the system has become unbalanced by overwork, overeating, or other irregularities, do not endeavor to adjust the difficulties by adding a burden of poisonous medicines. MH 235
In health and in sickness, pure water is one of heaven's choicest blessings. Its proper use promotes health. It is the beverage which God provided to quench the thirst of animals and man. Drunk freely, it helps to supply the necessities of the system and assists nature to resist disease. The external application of water is one of the easiest and most satisfactory ways of regulating the circulation of the blood. A cold or cool bath is an excellent tonic. Warm baths open the pores and thus aid in the elimination of impurities. Both warm and neutral baths soothe the nerves and equalize the circulation. MH 237
Thousands have died for want of pure water and pure air, who might have lived.... These blessings they need in order to become well. If they would become enlightened, and let medicine alone, and accustom themselves to outdoor exercise, and to air in their houses, summer and winter, and use soft water for drinking and bathing purposes, they would be comparatively well and happy instead of dragging out a miserable existence. CD 419
God helping me, I will do my utmost to show the life-giving power of sunshine and fresh air. How much better it is for the sick to be in the open air than within four walls, decorated though these walls may be with many pictures! MM 232
The sick have their lesson to learn. They must be denied those preparations of food that would retard or prevent their recovery to health. They must learn the science of self-denial, eating simple food prepared in a simple way. They should live much in the sunlight, which should find its way to every room of the building. Lectures on health topics should be given. These lectures will open the blinded understanding, and truths never before thought of will be fastened on the mind. MM 260
The need of carefulness in habits of diet should be impressed on the minds of all.... I appeal to all to refuse to eat those things that will injure the health. Thus they can serve the Lord by sacrifice. RC 151
Inactivity is a fruitful cause of disease. Exercise quickens and equalizes the circulation of the blood, but in idleness the blood does not circulate freely, and the changes in it, so necessary to life and health, do not take place. The skin, too, becomes inactive. Impurities are not expelled as they would be if the circulation had been quickened by vigorous exercise, the skin kept in a healthy condition, and the lungs fed with plenty of pure, fresh air. This state of the system throws a double burden on the excretory organs, and disease is the result. MH 238
In the efforts made for the restoration of the sick to health, use is to be made of the beautiful things of the Lord's creation. Seeing the flowers, plucking the ripe fruit from the trees, hearing the happy songs of the birds, have a peculiarly exhilarating effect on the nervous system. From out-of-door life, men, women, and children will gain the desire to be pure and guileless. By the influence of the quickening, reviving, life-giving properties of nature's great medicinal resources, the functions of the body are strengthened, the intellect awakened, the imagination quickened, the spirits enlivened. The mind is prepared to appreciate the beauties of God's word. MM 231
Courage, hope, faith, sympathy, love, promote health and prolong life. A contented mind, a cheerful spirit, is health to the body and strength to the soul. "A merry [rejoicing] heart doeth good like a medicine." Proverbs 17:22. In the treatment of the sick, the effect of mental influence should not be overlooked. Rightly used, this influence affords one of the most effective agencies for combating disease. CH 344
The soothing power of pure truth seen, acted, and maintained in all its bearings is of a value no language can express to people who are suffering with disease. Keep ever before the suffering sick the compassion and tenderness of Christ, and awaken their conscience to a belief in His power to relieve suffering, and lead them to faith and trust in Him, the Great Healer, and you have gained a soul and ofttimes a life. MM 234
