We may think that God’s discipline is underserved. I will hold my tongue and say nothing. Nothing good will come out of it.

3 5-10: Two Humbling Truths:
David’s Despair Psalm 39 5-10: Two Humbling Truths: 5-6: Recognizing the brevity of life and our fragile human condition makes us long for deliverance from God. Life is empty without God’s favor. Life is the length of four fingers put together. So much effort for money you can’t keep.

4 David’s Despair Psalm 39 7-10: Our turning point.
Why do we wait on the Lord? Because He delights in helping us. When we recognize the sharpening of God, we have hope.

5 9-10: Will the suffering last?
David’s Despair Psalm 39 9-10: Will the suffering last? It hurts. But there is purpose. The hand that disciplines is the hand that delivers.

6 11-13: Our Submission To God.
David’s Despair Psalm 39 11-13: Our Submission To God. Apart from God, our life is nothing. V.11 Humbled to seek the sharpening and discipline from God. V.12 Hope renewed in this temporary life.
