This is a program more focused on what they should do. Ex: of a daughter skipping school cp to pattern in the gardenWe need to stop playing silly games with the youth. Youth groups have a real function in our assemblies, but many are providing an escape from the parents. i.e. the youth group replacing their parents.

8The God Particle“The dominantly atheist world of physicists have placed their careers and lives on the line for something they believe in but have yet to ever see.”The parent root in Hebrew is variety within a kind, just like we see in the physical world. Atom has to have a proton, neutron AND electron in order to be whole. If one is missing it is called a ‘particle’ except for the hydrogen atom, the most abundant element in the universe, which has a proton and electron only.Scientists at CERN, as well as at Fermilab in Illinois, are hoping to find what they call the "Higgs boson." Higgs, they believe, is a particle, or set of particles, that might give others mass.First, though, scientists want to determine whether the Higgs boson exists. The search has been on for over ten years, both at CERN's Large Electron Positron Collider (LEP) in Geneva and at Fermilab in Illinois. To look for the particle, researchers must smash other particles together at very high speeds. If the energy from that collision is high enough, it is converted into smaller bits of matter -- particles -- one of which could be a Higgs boson. The Higgs will only last for a small fraction of a second, and then decay into other particles. So in order to tell whether the Higgs appeared in the collision, researchers look for evidence of what it would have decayed into.In order to truly understand what the Higgs boson is, however, we need to examine one of the most prominent theories describing the way the cosmos works: the standard model. The model comes to us by way of particle physics, a field filled with physicists dedicated to reducing our complicated universe to its most basic building blocks. It's a challenge we've been tackling for centuries, and we've made a lot of progress. First we discovered atoms, then protons, neutrons and electrons, and finally quarks and leptons (more on those later). But the universe doesn't only contain matter; it also contains forces that act upon that matter.(any thing that takes up space, solid, liquid, gas) The standard model has given us more insight into the types of matter and forces than perhaps any other theory we have.Here's the gist of the standard model, which was developed in the early 1970s: Our entire universe is made of 12 different matter particles and four forces [source: European Organization for Nuclear Research]. Among those 12 particles, you'll encounter six quarks and six leptons. Quarks make up protons and neutrons, while members of the lepton family include the electron and the electron neutrino, its neutrally charged counterpart. Scientists think that leptons and quarks are indivisible; that you can't break them apart into smaller particles. Along with all those particles, the standard model also acknowledges four forces: gravity, electromagnetic, strong and weak. As it turns out, scientists think each one of those four fundamental forces has a corresponding carrier particle, or boson, that acts upon matter. That's a hard concept to grasp. We tend to think of forces as mysterious, ethereal things that straddle the line between existence and nothingness, but in reality, they're as real as matter itself.

Particle accelerators convert energy into subatomic particles, for example by colliding electrons and positrons. Some of the kinetic energy in the collision goes into creating new particles. Its development revolutionized archaeology by providing a means of dating deposits independent of artifacts and local stratigraphic sequences. This allowed for the establishment of world-wide chronologies.” Yet, in the same article the astounding admission is made, “although radiocarbon is the most common and widely used chronometric technique in archaeology today, it is not infallible [italics added]. In general, single dates should not be trusted.”Let's say you have found a fossil you think to be a human skeleton. The best radioactive element to use to date human fossils is Carbon-14. There are several reasons why, but the main reasons is that Carbon-14 is a naturally occurring isotope in all forms of life and its half-life is about 5730 years, so we are able to use it to date more "recent" forms of life relative to the Geologic Time Scale.You would need to have access to scientific instruments at this point that could measure the amount of radioactivity in the sample, so off to the lab we go! After you prepare your sample and put it into the machine, your read-out says you have approximately 75% Nitrogen-14 and 25% Carbon-14. Now it is time to put those math skills to good use.At one half-life, you would have approximately 50% Carbon-14 and 50% Nitrogen-14. In other words, half (50%) of the Carbon-14 you started with has decayed into the daughter isotope Nitrogen-14. However, your read out from your radioactivity measuring instrument says you have only 25% Carbon-14 and 75% Nitrogen-14, so your fossil must have been through more than one half-life.After two half-lives, another half of your leftover Carbon-14 would have decayed into Nitrogen-14. Half of 50% is 25%, so you would have 25% Carbon-14 and 75% Nitrogen-14. This is what your read out said, so your fossil has undergone two half-lives.Now that you know how many half-lives have passed for your fossil, you need to multiply your number of half-lives by how many years are in one half-life. This gives you an age of 2 x 5730 = 11,460 years. Your fossil is of an organism (maybe human) that died 11,460 years ago.“The ratio of C-14/C-12 in the atmosphere has not been constant. For example, it was higher before the industrial era when the massive burning of fossil fuels released a lot of carbon dioxide that was depleted in C-14. This would make things that died at that time appear older in terms of carbon dating. Then there was a rise in radioactive carbon dioxide with the advent of atmospheric testing of atomic bombs in the 1950’s. This would make things carbon dated from that time appear younger than their true age.” The amount of cosmic rays penetrating the earth’s atmosphere affects the amount of C-14 produced and therefore affects the interpretation of the dating system. A stronger magnetic field [such as our earth possessed before the Genesis flood] deflects more cosmic rays away from the earth. The world-wide flood itself buried huge amounts of normal carbon, that became coal, oil, etc., lowering the C-12 in the biosphere and skewing the interpretation of the data. Volcanic activity, universally prevalent at the time of the Genesis flood, emitted great amounts of carbon dioxide depleted in radioactive carbon. Fossils formed in the early post-flood period would give radiocarbon ages older than they really are.
