Alphonse Gabriel Capone “Al Scarface Capone” Born January 17 th 1899 in Brooklyn, NY to Gabriele and Teresina Capone of Italy Married to Mae Josephine (Coughlin) Son Albert Francis “Sonny” Capone Died January 25 th 1947 in Florida
The Start of an All-Star Career Dropped out of school at age 14 Was a member of the “Junior 40 Thieves” “Bowery Boys” “Brooklyn Rippers” “Five Points Gang” Frankie Yale, a bartender with gang connections, got Capone a job as a bouncer at the Harvard Inn. This is where he got scars on face from breaking up a fight.
Chicago Fellow “Five Points Member” and Capone’s mentor, Johnny Torrio moved to Chicago and got Capone a Job as a bodyguard for Boss James "Big Jim" Colosimo. Torrio took over Chicago after Colosimo was murdered. Frankie Yale and Al Capone were suspects for the slaying “Big Jim” and two others.
A King is Born Forming of the Torrio-Capone Gang In direct competition with the North Side Gang of Dean O’Banion O’Banion betrays Torrio and both end up arrested Oct. 10, 1924 Torrio’s Men murder O’Banion which starts a gang war 1925 North Side Gang retaliates and Torrio is wounded Torrio flees to Italy and leaves his business to Capone Gang known as the “Chicago Outfit” or “Chicago Mob”

The Fall of King Alphonse 1931 Capone is indicted for Income Tax Evasion and various infractions of prohibition. Bribed members of the jury, but at the last minute the jury members were swapped with another court room. Found Guilty of Tax Evasion. Other Charges are dropped because the investigators do not have enough evidence to convict.

End of a Legacy Power diminished when prohibition ended in December of 1933. Paroled November 16, 1939. Physical & mental health begin to fail in prison due to neurosyphilis. Jan 21 st suffers a stroke and recovers. Jan 24 th get pneumonia Dies January 25 th 1947 at the Age of 48yrs.
