13 Notification Plans: Discontinued Programs Continuing Master’s Students ◦ Five years from the date of initial registration to complete their programs Continuing Doctoral Students - Seven years from the date of initial registration to complete their programs ALL STUDENTS MUST BE ADVISED UTILIZING THE DEPARTMENT’S SCHEME FOR DEGREE COMPLETION in conjunction with General Registration for fall 2011, but no later than April 30, 2011 School of Education - Melanie Carter, Acting Dean 2011

14 Notification Plans: Discontinued Programs Former Students Returning (FSR) ◦ 2015 – Master’s students ◦ 2017 – Doctoral Students Effective January 29, 2011, No New Students are to be admitted to discontinued programs Students admitted prior to January 29 should be advised to select another major/program School of Education - Melanie Carter, Acting Dean 2011

15 Academic Advisement All students must receive strong, continuous academic advisement in all academic programs. Each student must have a program of study on file in the program office that will guide their continued matriculations The document must be signed by the student and the advisor School of Education - Melanie Carter, Acting Dean 2011

16 Public Notices Affected academic programs must ensure that all program information, web content, recruitment materials, course catalogues, and program curriculum information is updated to reflect program discontinuation status by April 30, 2011. 17 Next Steps Submit required academic renewal plans Review, revise, and distribute program schemes Ensure that all students have been advised (maintain signed program scheme as documentation) Revise and align department materials with Academic Renewal Plans Review summer and fall course schedules to ensure appropriate faculty workload, better project student enrollment, and make necessary changes as a result of Academic Renewal Implementation School of Education - Melanie Carter, Acting Dean 2011
