2 What is the College in High School (CHS) Program? Awards college credit for the successful completion of approved courses offered at participating high school Special SUNY reduced tuition rate Students are SUNY Potsdam non-matriculated undergraduates Students receive SUNY Potsdam transcript upon course completion Most credits can be transferred to other institutions, at the discretion of the receiving institution

3 Admission Requirements: Minimum of 80.0 grade point average in a Regents/College preparatory curriculum Completion of CHS Student Application Copy of high school transcript $175 per class per student –Reduced tuition rate vs. $836.30 –Includes College & Transcript Fees Associated Cost:

C OURSE P ROPOSALS Course Proposals Articulation Agreements Develop & Conduct Course SUNY Potsdam: SUNY Potsdam reaches out to High Schools guidance counselors High School: High Schools nominate any advanced courses with Partnership Information Form Submit course syllabus Instructor resume Instructor Information Form SUNY Potsdam: Materials forwarded to academic departments for review Equivalency designation set Students Apply Admin & Processing Grading

A RTICULATION A GREEMENT Course Proposals Articulation Agreements Develop & Conduct Course SUNY Potsdam: Affiliation Agreement is created and forwarded to High School along with Faculty Liaison contact information and SUNY course syllabus High School: High School instructor(s), Guidance Counselor, and Principal sign agreement Return signed agreement to Extended Education SUNY Potsdam: Department Chair, Extended Education, and Provost signatures Copy of completed agreement forwarded to High School Students Apply Admin & Processing Grading

D EVELOP & C ONDUCT C OURSE Course Proposals Articulation Agreements Develop & Conduct Course High School: Instructor tweaks course (if desired) in conjunction with SUNY Faculty Liaison and SUNY equivalent course syllabus Instructor teaches course as usual, consulting SUNY Faculty Liaison if needed SUNY Potsdam: SUNY Faculty Liaison makes 1-2 class visits throughout the academic year to observe and provide feedback, ensuring academic rigor consistent with equivalent SUNY course Students Apply Admin & Processing Grading

S TUDENTS A PPLY Course Proposals Articulation Agreements Develop & Conduct Course High School: Within first month of class, any student interested in taking course for college credit (typically Jr or Sr with 80+ GPA) submits application to designated High School Designee Designee forwards all applications and student transcripts to Extended Education by October 1 NEW: Accepted CHS students will receive information and be eligible to participate in a College and Career Preparation Series provided by SUNY Potsdam’s Office of Admissions and Experiential Education Office (In the works) Students Apply Admin & Processing Grading

A DMIN & P ROCESSING Course Proposals Articulation Agreements Develop & Conduct Course SUNY Potsdam: High School Instructor is entered into system as adjunct faculty Courses are created and students enrolled Students receive confirmation letter acknowledging enrollment and including “P number” and instructions on obtaining transcript Invoice generated for total amount of enrollments and sent to High School Representative High School: High School collects payments from students ($175 per class) Issues one check to SUNY Potsdam for total amount Students Apply Admin & Processing Grading

G RADING Course Proposals Articulation Agreements Develop & Conduct Course High School: High School submits final grades for each CHS student to Extended Education by July 1 SUNY Potsdam: Extended Education enters final grade for student Registrar’s office provides final transcript to student upon request Students Apply Admin & Processing Grading
