5 Types of animation There as basically two types of animation, namely : Cell animation: is based on a series of frames or cells in which the object is redrawn in each consecutive cell to depict motion. 7 Functions of instructional animations Functions of instructional animations include the following, namely: Cosmetic function: to make instruction attractive to learners. o Cosmetic applications of animation, however, do little to enhance learning. o They can distract learners from focusing on the main instructional points of a lesson. Attention gaining function: the movement created by the animation is useful for capturing the learners’ attention.
