4 OLIVE GENOME PROJECT  THE FIRST GENOME CONSORTIUM IN TURKEY ESTABLISHED UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF CANKIRI KARATEKIN UNIVERSITY  10 UNIVERSITIES FROM SPAIN, ITALY, GREECE, MOROCCO, USA, CHINA AND TURKEY ARE WORKING TOGETHER IN THIS USD BUDGETED PROJECT  CANKIRI KARATEKIN UNIVERSITY IS THE PROJECT COORDINATOR  PROJECTS AIMS TO REVEAL THE WHOLE GENETIC CODES OF OLIVE  RECENT FOCUS IS THE AYVALIK OLIVE CANKIRI KARATEKIN UNIVERSITY

5 PAPAVER GENOME PROJECT  THE AIM OF THE PROJECT IS TO UNDERSTAND THE MORPHINE SYNTEHIS GENETICALLY AND TO INCREASE THE PRODUCTION QUANTITY  WITH THE GENETICAL RESEARCH PERFORMED, COMPUNDS SUCH AS TEBAINE AND MORPHINE IN PAPAVER CAN NOW BE PRODUCED FIVE TIMES MORE IN QUANTITY IN THE CROP LEVEL CANKIRI KARATEKIN UNIVERSITY

10 SIMULTANEOUS DETERMINATION OF MERCURY AND SELENIUM IN FISH WITH HPLC- ICP MS METHOD  WITH THE PROJECT, IT WILL BE POSSIBLE TO DETERMINE THE TYPES OF MERCURY AND SELENIUM SIMULTANEOUSLY AND WITH A SINGLE METHOD FOR THE FIRST TIME IN LITERATURE  WITHIN THIS CONTEXT, A HYBRID HPLC-ICP MS SYSTEM WILL BE COMPRISED BY CONNECTING THE TWO POWERFUL INSTRUMENTAL TECHNICS, HPLC AND ICP MS, DIRECTLY.  ICP MS MACHINE EMPLOYED IN THE PROJECT ENABLES THE ANALYSIS OF ALL ELEMENTS CANKIRI KARATEKIN UNIVERSITY

11 A NEW AND EFFICIENT METHOD OF DECONTAMİNATION AND DETOXIFICATION FOR THE FOOD INDUSTRY: APPLICATION OF ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE PLASMA CANKIRI KARATEKIN UNIVERSITY  AIMS TO IDENTIFY THE TOXIC EFFECT OF TOXIN DEGRADATION PRODUCTS MIGHT EXERT ON HUMAN HEALTH WITH IN-VITRO CYTOTOXICITY TESTS
