6 SO Support Projects Office of Security - Safeguards and Security Policy Information Assurance Project –Capture and make available historical safeguards and security information (classified and unclassified) –136 boxes received (processed 25 boxes) –4,050 unclassified records loaded –1,500 classified records scanned

8 SO Support Projects OpenNet –Established in 1994 as part of Secretary Hazel O'Leary's Openness Initiative –Per DOE M A (Identifying Classified Information) – “OpenNet Data Base. Each organization that declassifies a document and determines that it may be released to the public shall ensure that the following information is submitted to the Office of Scientific and Technical Information for inclusion on the OpenNet data base: (1) a bibliographic reference to the document and (2) the location where the document is available to the public.”

9 SO Support Projects OpenNet (Continued) –Per DOE G A – “The following information products are also submitted to OSTI for central processing and announcement at the direction of Headquarters program offices. They do not follow the STI product submission process and do not require an announcement record (DOE F or DOE F 241.3): foreign trip reports, OpenNet documents, and R&D project summaries.”
